    poor shotput woman.

Very amateur looking photos with few if any exceptions.

Yahoo Sports #1 Summer Olympics memorable moment

    Michael Phelps goes 8-for-8

I still think Munich should have been #1.

A Greek athlete has been expelled from the team because of racist tweets.

    Saw this on Boing Boing:

What annoys me out about these games isn't the militarized security or crazy brand-protection laws, which were predictable. It's the pervasive amateurism of the creative work. From the "Blowjob Lisa" logo to the "Amiga-era 3D Modeling Tutorial" mascots to the "Duct tape lettering on dollar store window" typeface, we now progress--allegedly!--to a battle of the brands fought under exclusive license from Warner Bros. and Disney.
Link but be warned, there are blatant spoilers for the opening ceremony.

This comment cracked me up, since I've never been a big fan of her reporting. However, she is most definitely established:
Best we stop feeding the troll here. Taking a quick look through Christine Brennan's past articles -- most are written in the same voice. Just trying to get hits, attention, exposure. She's probably a struggling undergraduate journalism major with a few good connections allowing her to freelance contribute an article now and then. Enjoy the Olympics everyone!

Mitt Romney is making waves in London but not in a good way. Statements he has made has angered the Brits.

Man cycles for two years from China to attend the Olympics in London. His story is unusual but so much fun to read. Hope he gets his wish to be part of the opening ceremonies. I have a feeling he might just et his wish.

He pretty much always pisses me off as well.

ETA: I didn't realize he made quite so many blunders!

    Is David Cameron on FSU?

“We are holding an Olympic Games in one of the busiest, most active, bustling cities anywhere in the world. Of course it’s easier if you hold an Olympic Games in the middle of nowhere,” he said in apparent reference to the Salt Lake City Olympics managed by Romney in 2002.

The irony being, Brian Clay, the American athlete in that photo and 2008 Decathlon champion, DIDN'T make the US team after he fouled out in the discus and given the USA's (ridculously) strict policy of first three past the post, they left him off the team.
