Djokovic served terribly in the 1st set. How many doubles did he have?

Federer looked amazing. Can't wait for the US Open!

I think he had 5 double faults if I am remembering correctly.

Wow, Roger! I can't get over that he's doing as well as he is this year! I was gone all day so I didn't get to see the match but I definitely was not expecting to see him bagel Djokovic in the first set.

Li wins her first title of the year and her first since RG last year!

Beat Kerber in the Cincy final 1-6 6-3 6-1; last set and a half was superb form her!

That's pretty awful. Allegedly bludgeoned to death with a coffee mug? If a writer put that in a novel, they'd have to take it out because it would sound too improbable/silly.

Just bought flight tickets for New York!

Hoping to see Federer live - FINALLY.

    Question:
    1) All the early rounds (through the quarterfinals) last 2 days each
    2) For the first round, Federer will play Monday night (as opposed to Tuesday)
    3) Does that mean that Federer will continue to play in the first day of each round's 2-day period through the quarterfinals?

I'm not entirely sure if I'm excited about the USO.

Please, for the love of god, can we have a new mens champion?! Someone not called Djokovic, Federer or even Murray would be beautiful

I would like a Li Na victory. Or Kerber Or serena.

Just for you, Supertwink, the first match of the tourny streaming on my computer is Li Na vs. Heather Watson.

It poured this afternoon. It almost made me glad I couldn't go.

Azarenka just had Panova for breakfast, lunch & dinner.

Donald Young has had a pretty poor attitude during this match.

the most interesting thing about this match is that john mcenroe still cant accept that he could never make donald young happen. i started the evening thinking i would make a drinking game out of it but that quickly turned out to be a lethal decision and had to be abandoned.
I feel like I'm in a dream. But it can't be a dream because there are no boy dancers!

Oh god, I was just about to post about this. I agree, I think he really wanted to be able to say he "discovered" Donald Young. Many, many players show great potential when they are young and end up not becoming a Roger or Nadal or Djokovic. And yet, it's Donald Young that John cannot stop kvetching about.

I remember that donald young hype when he was young and still a junior. I remember disliking him because of it, even though I knew nothing about him and he'd basically achieved nothing other than in juniors. It was a "foregone conclusion" that he'd be a superstar and then <splat>. Sometimes all the talent in the world does not overcome lack of work or whatever else john was saying were the issues... he did harp on that topic waaaay too much last night...lol, definitely a good call to abandon that drinking game. You'd be on the floor!
