If she wears this costume at JW, will she get a costume violation?
I really like her! I wouldn't have called that excessive nudity.

I don't think it is either, but it is low cut front and back.

The men who were at the party where I watched Nationals thought the black on her front looked like hands reaching up and grabbing her chest. Apparently the 'swan' costume was lost on them.

Samantha's costume is not only cut low in front and back, but on the sides, too. I'd hate to see her get a costume deduction--I like Cesario very much, and thought her FS was among the best of the night.

Does it depend if the official in charge of costume inspection is bored and wants to feel important? Who actually makes the costume/prop deductions?

Cesario's dress might be too tame for this thread.

Each judge has the capability to post -1.00 for a costume or prop violation. If a majority of the judges do so, the referee applies a 1.00 deduction.

Awesome polls Cocovica! I can't believe I've missed the fun! Looking through all the pictures makes me think:

    1. I MISS LA KHOKH!!!! Nobody has stepped up to replace her :dramaqueen:

    2. Ice dance costumes sure have gone downhill (the outrageous hill that is) in the last few years.

Nipples on ice. Is this a Wang original? I feel like borrowing Disney's Aladdin eraser.

Zhiganshina & Gaszi: the dress is like strange fecal art. It reminds me of pool noodles and those balloon sculptures clowns do.

Amodio: Magic Mike meets tiger circus trainer. Yikes.

PS, bless you for starting this Cocovica. Made my day

It was brought to my attention by euterpe that this young lady received a costume deduction this year at the JGP. I mean, I cannot see why. I've heard all underage women in France skate around nude to jazz music. Those stuffy judges! This seems to be inspired by Josephine Baker, but it comes off as just, well, naked.

And from that same competition Hwi Choi didn't do much better dressed as a hobo. JGP is where it's at for ladies costumes.

I agree- best of the ladies. Also loved Madison Chock as best in dance ...it was high risk but the framing of the face with the collar was top rate.
