Yesterday were the hammar throw trials - both men's and women's. It wasn't mentioned on any schedule I saw, but they were broadcast on the Comcast Sports Network. For some reason, I get CSN on DISH so I was able to watch a little bit. I assume this broadcast would still be available on the on demand feature of Comcast.

I found out that one of the runners in the 10,000 meter finals tonight is the son of a friend. I knew he ran for his university (Oregon) but I didn't know he was good enough for the Olympic trials. I don't think he will make the team but I will be rooting for Luke Peskedra.

    Go Luke.

Ugh, that rain. I feel slow just watching it.

Anyone know why Dude #3 is wearing black opera gloves?

ETA: How nice that the top three guys all had the required qualifying score!

Just got in from a run myself when I turned on the final event of the decathlon... good timing! What a great moment to watch, Eaton breaking the world record! Watching that has just gotten me even more freaking excited for London!

As usual, I am tape delayed by an hour. It will be fun to watch. I was happy to see that Luke Puskedra was 8th last night in the 10,000. I hope for a great future for him.

I love having trials to watch all week long.

Ashton Eaton WR in the men's decathlon WOW, that guy is just incredible!!!

Hope he can regain himself for London after this performance, still he is clearly head and shoulders above the rest of the world field, so it would be a matter of if he can go clean in London and maybe get the Olympic Record

My favourite was Trey Hardee but considering he is still recovering from an operation on his elbow he still did well, qualifying for the Games where I hope he medals

LoLo Jones sneaking into third place and a ticket to the Games, good for her!!!

The men's decathlon finish was thrilling. Sad for Clay, who will not be going to London after his stumble in the hurdles.

Did anyone else go - whaaaat? - when Ashton Eaton was embraced by two lookalike women, blonde, ponytailed, same outfit, same build, and the announcer goes, "And he's being congratulated now by his mom and his fiancee!"

I thought they were his sisters or two twin coaches.

DRAMA in the Women's 100M dash!

I had a feeling watching it live last night that this race wasn't over.

Gutted for whichever gal finishes 4th.

No idea why Felix is entered in the 100m. Surely she'd be better off doing the 200m/400m.

If Felix makes the team on the 200, they should all just agree that she is the 4th on the 4x100 relay and let her teammate go individually for the 100. The 200 should be her focus anyway.

I was wondering where the Track & Field thread was! I wonder if they'll end up doing a run-off? I can't believe USATF let Tarmoh go to the press conference thinking she was on the Olympic team. What a mess!

I'm so happy Lolo Jones made the team for the 100 Hurdles!

Wait, the 3rd place finisher in the decathlon is called Gray Horn? PML!

There's a competitor in the 100m named English Gardner (NCAA champ, too)
I wish she'd made the team for London 2012 - she seemed destined for an NBC fluff piece.
