    Michelle (skating)News and Tidbits

Didn't see these post anywhere yet.
Looks like she and YuNa may skate together again. Articles say the MK suggested it "but is worried about her rusty skate" since she hasn't skated since her last appearance with YuNA. It would be so nice to see her on the ice again.

I think here's the right place to post.

Kwan advises Kim to follow her heart.
    This too will pass away.

RunnersHigh, your link isn't working for me - here's a cached copy of the article: http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...78_113602.html
    Excerpt:
Two-time Olympic figure skating medalist Michelle Kwan, known to be Kim Yu-na’s role model, has advised Kim to find her passion in life.

“I think she is figuring out her path as she spends time in school and learns from her colleagues and friends. She might find other interests outside of skating if she hasn’t already,” Kwan said Friday in an interview with The Korea Times. “It’s going to be difficult. But you have to do something that you love doing.”

The board member of the 2013 PyeongChang Special Olympics held media interviews at Grand Hilton Hotel in Seoul, before she wrapped up her five-day visit. At the interview, the 31-year-old encouraged Kim to move forward with the lessons that she surely learned from the sport: “Hard work, dedication, discipline, falling and getting back up.”

Ms. Kwan is attending the event as the Public Diplomacy Envoy for the President’s Council on Fitness, Sport and Nutrition. A five-time World champion, two-time Olympic medalist (1998 and 2002) and nine-time U.S. champion in figure skating, Ms. Kwan has been elected to the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame as the only member of the Class of 2012.

For what it's worth, I think her life has taken on a different direction since leaving competition and she's found her way in other things.

I'd love to see her compete again but I don't feel she's coming back. It'd be a shock to me if she did...a welcomed shock, but a shock nonetheless.

Just lovely and classy! Look how she glows with excitement when talking about her roles and hops for Special Olympics! There have been many, many skaters who found their next-skating-life successfully, but for me, Michelle is the most accomplished one with qualities that make her the best serving ambassador for the sport.

Le cute story about Yuna's reaction at their first encounter
