I think Gold is seriously aiming for the US national title and #1 spot for worlds. In that case, she and her coach might want to avoid to face their biggest rival (wagner) at this early season competition. They happily accepted the offer in the first place but after knowing Wagner is also invited, they have changed the minds. Considering past several years, Rochette should have the priority.

It's pretty much obvious Zawadzki is favored by the USFS and they "recommended" her to the JO organizers.

YAY!! Japan Open is starting in an hour

Can't wait to see the new programs of the top skaters!

Yesterday Mao jumped beautiful 3A. And aloso her 3Lo and 3F-2Lo-tano2Lo look nice

But Mao is not planning 3A today, maybe later in the season.
This season Daisuke plans to jump 2 qうads in his free program, and it's so exciting

His new program looks nice and dramatic as always.

Kozuka's costume reminds me of last years', with a bit of twist.

This is quite a lineup of men.

jumps are on for all. most jumps during the warm ups by any of them were good.
Michal doubled 4s twice without landing a good one.
