I love the fact that the brackets come out of an Ina Bauer Fabulous transitions in here and because he's so flexible Jason really can integrate them seemlessly rather than looking as though they're stuck on. Ok the Y-hold into the second lutz is a bit obvious but the rest are integrated really well. Loving the fan spiral into the second axel. Looking forward to seeing him do a triple from that entrance. Love the program; so much potential here!
It's probably too early to talk about program construction with 20 seconds missing, but, near the end, did he do a 2A in the MIDDLE of the choreo sequence? Wouldn't that freak out, I mean confuse, the technical specialists?

Jason maturity this year is on a different level; not to belabor the point, but in expression, a boy became a man, and it makes tremendous difference in interpreting the SP.
I actually decided to pat myself on the back and found my post from last year after seeing Jason's SP for the first time:
It feels like a "grow into" kind of program. It requires not only an attitude, but a certain sensuality and projection. It is the first of Jason's programs where I imagine Rohene more than Jason, though I like the choreography a great deal. Jason has lots of charisma and might grow into his material, or slightly reimagine it to be projecting himself. But the costume, IMO, has to go. It is also "too big" at this point; and the combination of required "in your face" attitude and elaborate costume somewhat drown the treasure that is Jason Brown. I hope his team adjusts a bit
And it happened! He DOES project sensuality and "attitude" now, and it does not feel awkward. I thought repeating the SP was a mistake, and I was wrong. Love the program now.
Also with you on the costume. Let the body language speak without the extra ruffle.
The LP will be a stunner. ))

Emdee, it wasn't Jason who made this suggestion, it was me. And I expect he would wear John Kerr type underclothes, and the knee socks are traditional in any case. Heck in one of those Kerr "Erin Shore" exhibitions, Sinead lifted John upside down and there was nothing untoward to be seen.

I've always hated the music of Riverdance, but I love the choreography and construction of Jason's program. The footwork is to die for!

This Riverdance program is amazing. Simply WOW. The musicality and the build up to the end is wonderful. There are transitions into every single jumping pass but the opening quad. Spins are wonderful as always. It is as exciting as Buttle's 2004 Elgar program (before he had to dial it down).
Either I can't wait to see how this program further develops with the season, or I somehow worry he will be forced to tone down on the amazing details to ensure he can land more jumps.
Hmm, am I the only one who doesn't love Jason's Riverdance LP?
Transitions are great and all, but there's just something about the music that doesn't grab me. Maybe it's the edit? I feel like the program starts too slowly, then suddenly shifts into overdrive in the last 2/3 without any change in tempo until the end. It feels like two distinct programs and not a cohesive piece with various highs and lows. It's just sloooow--now FAST!
Or maybe it's the association I have with the music itself? The Irish stepdancing phenomena, along with the flamboyant Michael Flatley, has been parodied so badly since the mid-90s, it's difficult to take the music seriously when I hear it. But I guess that's my baggage. Still, the music doesn't scream, "Olympic LP" to me like his Liebestraum program did.
It was obvious by the 2/3 mark Jason was getting tired. Movements were not as crisp and he was falling behind the music. I wonder if this will pose an issue later on as the season progresses.
I know it's early, and I'm sure the program will grow on me. As of now, I feel it's a good program surely, but I'm not captivated by it by any means.
Heavens, this was only the first outing of a program "in process".
I look forward to watching it develop.

Oooh, I really really really really really hope that Jason makes the Olympic team. I know it's not what he is exactly banking on and he's very young, but his programs look so good and it would be fantastic experience for him, not to mention great exposure for the next four years. Sorta like Evan Lysacek.
