Newington native, Michael T. Lombardi will return to host this year's event. "Tribute to Life," sanctioned by USFS and sponsored by the Connecticut Skating Academy at Newington, is a unique undertaking, as rarely do ice shows feature adult ice skaters, most of whom medaled at Adult National Figure Skating Championships. While the majority of the skaters are adults, several elite skaters currently competing at the national and world level, are also on the program. Among those featured are Olympic Hopefuls: Madison Hubbell and Connecticut native Zachary Donohue, 2012 U.S. Ice Dance bronze medalists, Tiffany Vise and Don Baldwin, 2012 U.S. Pairs and Grand Prix competitors and Brooklee Han, Australian Junior Ladies and World competitor. Joining them will be Natasha Popova, two-time Ukrainian Ladies Champion, Svetlana Kulikova, two-time Russian Ice Dance silver medalist, Jennifer Wester Barantsev, Nebelhorn Trophy Champion and Skating with the Stars Pro, Massimo Scali, World bronze medalist, Italian Ice Dance Champion and Olympic competitor, Jason Wong, two-time U.S. Collegiate Champion, Emilie Nussear, 2000 Jr. World Ice Dance silver medalist, Ainsley McGill, U.S. Junior silver medalist and Christie Sausa (Recipient of First David Drake Memorial Scholarship). Several local youngsters that train in the greater Hartford area will also be skating in group numbers.
