I'd stick to ladiezzzz if I were you. You embarrassed yourself when you said the Shibutanis looked natural doing the samba. Scarlet for you!

I thought that was a requirement when becoming a member here.

I don't know how would any thread survive without some: she's too skinny, she's too fat, he's too old for her, she's too young for him, he/she needs to get a new coach, they should retire, he's bald, she's too slutty, she's not slutty enough, that dress looks fugly on her, that makeup looks fugly on her, wuzrobbedness, straight or gay, his/her/their skating and/or programs suck, he/she is a headcase…so on and so forth

    IOANA ... [

So IOANA, you know this to be a FACT? Which suggests that you know Maia or her family well enough to be sure of such information, and you are exploiting your relationship and this forum as a way to criticize them anonymously. Nice.

OR ... are you lying. You are making something up and presenting it as fact. And no, the use of * * does not condition your statement.

As is typically the case, when comments like this get made, they tend to get picked up by others as a topic for further discussion, and HEY! before you know it, it has become part of the folklore on a given person. Nice.

In this case, by the way, they are in regard to someone who is still a minor.

I suppose it makes no difference. Either way, you are making comments which are negatively directed towards Maia on a PERSONAL level. This is barely disguised to support your OPINION that the "right" way for someone to perform Latin dance to your satisfaction is with a certain manner which it would seem comes from going on unsupervised dates.

You also don't hesitate to insult Maia's parents. Parents who in most people's books seem to have done a pretty darn effective job of raising an impressive young woman.

    So which is it IOANA??

    Do you HATE Maia?
IOANA, Do you HATE Maia's parents?
IOANA, Do you HATE them equally? Do you hate one more than the other?

Wouldn't it be easier to just badrep IOANA?

Absolutely agree with your post! Though the worse part was their crappy choreography, and this goes for all their programs.

I still can't believe they won the Olympics using Carmen!

At least the Shibutanis have had nice looking FDs.

And about them having the best blades in Canton. That's quite an insult to Virtue/Moir and Davis/White (not to mention most of the teams in the Top 10).
Ah - It'd only be an insult if it weren't true.

All season many posters have been complaining that pretty much none of the latin dances put out this year were convincing and/or had the true Latin feel. So what excuse do the non-virgins who are allowed to go on 1-on-1 dates have?

Developed in Brazil during the 19th century, the Samba is considered the dance of celebration and joy at Carnival celebrations in Rio. IMO requires neither sensuality or suggestiveness.

Yeah, and 17 million search results for "samba+sex" on Google must be just an aberration.

My Brazilian friends would get a great chuckle if they were told that samba has nothing to do with sex or sensuality.

Brazilian ballroom samba (gafieira) and samba that would be danced at parties has close to nothing to do with samba from the carnival parades (in Rio or in the rest of the country).

I'll post a video when I feel like it. Search for Carlinhos de Jesus.

It's Saturday morning (I'm useless right now) and I have no clue of what has been said upthread (and I won't bother reading), just answering the last few posts.

that we're talking about the Shibutanis and you're complaining about a former World and Olympic champions choreography. Talk about delusional.

"Nice" is a good word to describe the Shibutanis FDs. "Dull", "Uninteresting" and "safe" would be a few other words I'd use.

That's probably my single favorite moment from any N&K program ever.

Yeah, this is getting ridiculous. But it's the off season. That's what happens.

I thought that Navka and Kostomarov had some great programs. One of my favorite OD's of all time is their 2004 OD.

Yeah once the Austin Powers come in, I cannot stop laughing. It is my go to program when I'm feeling sad.

Yes, they're definitely saying. It was in the same press release as the one annoucing that D/W would be staying.
