I'm a gay male.
I love outspoken athletes and hate canned, PC quotes.
Many of my favorite skaters are Russian.
Taking this all into account, you'd think I'd be a big Weir fan, but I. Cannot. Stand. Him.
The namedropping, pretentiousness, wuzrobbing, and Z list celebrity whoring should all make mefor his tackiness. But it drives me crazy.
If someone can help explain this, I'd be thankful. But this interview made me nauseous.

Johnny makes my skin crawl. I posted this in the "NYC Ballet Fans" thread, but I'm reposting here. This is NOT appropriate attire for a ballet gala.

That outfit is ridiculous. An old Russian lady would never wear this horror to a ballet gala.

Buncha haters up in this thread. Ah well, more for the rest of us. I will gladly take it ^__^
Well in today's world it's not what you actually accomplish anymore but if you get notice. That's what it's all about now. People are just attention whores. Just watch TV sometimes. I mean what exactly do the Kardashians contribute to society except STD'S?![]()
I happen to be a Johnny fan and many times I do cringe at his wardrobe choices, but I had the pleasure of meeting him several times and he is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I admire that no matter how tired he is after a long plane ride or after a show, he will not hesitate to, not only sign autographs but talk to the fans and listen to what they have to say.
Marge, I'm surprised by your conservatism. You may not like what he's wearing, but Johnny's outfit seems to be very much on trend as captured by Bill Cunningham this week (see the end of this video). If one can't be part of the fashion vanguard at the ballet or any other arts event, then we may as well all just shop at Brooks Brothers and Talbots so that we never risk offending anyone.
Back to Johnny's skating, he seems to have a very difficult time letting go of the 6.0 mindset that falling is the worst thing. I think this hampered his success in later years because he seemed so focused on not falling that he often appeared to hold himself back in his performance. He needs to let go of that idea if he wants to advance.
Only ice is cooler than Daisuke.~ IceAlisa after the 2012 WTT men's event.
Nail. Hit. On. Head.
I used to be a Weir fan but now I just find him very boring. There's nothing new, innovative or creative about anything he does, says or wears. His silly efforts at being shocking and outrageous have just become SO predictable.
Johnny .... your "fifteen minutes" have expired.
So, so, SO inappropriate!!!!!!!111111 yet he is the one invited to all these wonderful and exciting events and you folks, who deem yourself superiour in both your fasion, character and worldview sit at home and gnash your teeth...Johnny makes my skin crawl. I posted this in the "NYC Ballet Fans" thread, but I'm reposting here. This is NOT appropriate attire for a ballet gala.

Shows how much you know!![]()
Always a laugh to count how many people say they hate Johnny yet read his interviews and take the time to comment on them.
Why do these threads always turn into "bash-fests"?
If you have a negative opinion of him, why read, or post in them?
