I have to say that I'm morbidly curious about Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter .

Other that that I'm looking forward to Brave (it looks gorgeous) and counting down the days until the midnight premiere of Dark Knight Rises.

Me too. When we saw the trailer for it my friend and I both burst out laughing -- then immediately made a date to go see it!

I tend to wait for DVD for most movies, but the I'll almost certainly see Dark Night on the big screen, and possibly Snow White & the Hunter.

Another Movie Starring Taylor Kitsch?! Dare I say that the prospects for that movie is not great.

I agree completely. Plus it looks like it's a great story. Plus it's Pixar's first movie to feature a female lead.

I was planning on putting this one in the poll, but I thought the trailer was abysmal. Maybe there's another trailer out there better than the one I looked at (I usually go with the one that has the most views on youtube). So maybe I picked an older trailer and there's a much better newer one. Still, I'm interested in this movie, I'll wait until I get better info and/or wait to see how it does at the box office.

I recall a couple of vampire movies he was in which made a few bucks.

(OK, reposting this coz Peter closed off the previous thread shortly after I posted it there ...)

I saw a real gem of a sleeper movie last night: Perfect Sense. To be perfectly honest, the only reason I picked this one up was because it stars Ewan McGreggor, and I'll watch him in anything. And on that level I was not disappointed -- he deliverered his usual quality performance, with a little bonus full-frontal nudity too! (Yes, I did hit the rewind & pause buttons. Want to make something of it?)

But there is so much more to the film than just Ewan. I don't want to say too much to give it away, but suffice it to say it's about as far removed from a Hollywood disaster/epidemic movie as you can possibly get. (It reminded me a lot in tone of Last Night, the Canadian end-of-the-world film from 1998). It's about personal connections and everyday human exisistance, and filled with some stunning imagery and metaphors -- without being over-intellectual or too "artsy," IYKWIM.

Anyway, I loved it, and highly recommend looking for it.

Snow White and the Huntsman doesn't interest me that much, but I've seriously considered going to see it just for the Les Mis trailer.

Sorry, did you not read the part about Ewan McGreggor and full frontal nudity? (Eva Green gets nekkid too for those that-way inclined.)

But seriously ... while the trailer captures the tone of the film quite well (not always the case of course), it was really was a very life-affirming kind of film IMO.

Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones look like they play off of each other beautifully (and hilariously) in "Hope Springs."

In one of the earlier threads, the animated movie "Tangled" was referred to as a bomb. It cost $260 million (WTH???) to make and the U.S. box office was 200 million. So a loss of 60 million, right? Which would make it a bomb for sure. But the overseas returns were 385 million. And in it's first week of release as a DVD, it made 51 million and became the #1 selling DVD of 2011. The DVD was now just reached over 100 million in sales.

It's interesting how profitable some box office bombs are.

The Dark Knight Rises, Prometheus, and Brave (though that one won't hit Swedish cinemas until August 31). Red Lights looks interesting too, if only for the cast (Cillian Murphy! ).

Watched Angelina Jolie's 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' on PPV: Interesting plot and theme, but was it in English (it played that way on my TV)? I found that distracting to watch a foreign film with actors speaking in halting English. It should be viewed in the actors' / country of origin's language.

Chris Hemsworth and Charlize! I know what you are saying about Kristen. Of course I wasn't crazy about the material she had to work with in "Twilight" so maybe we'll see a bit more expression in this one. I love that Charlize is not afraid to be "the bitch." Just saw her in "Young Adult" and loved her...

I almost forgot: "Young Adult" was double-billed with "Like Crazy." After seeing the latter I was thinking of how much I might like seeing Felicity Jones in the Snow role.

To Rome with love, and Hope springs for me. Even though I hate comedies, there are some real stars in these two that would not want to pass up.
