I think tickets of JO were never sold out before. It's nearly impossible to fill the 30000 capacity arena even in Tokyo's suburb. Generally, Japanese fans prefer competitions to shows. MWO is more like a show. They needed some kind of competition formats to attract general audiences (who don't know much about foreign skaters).

I think one or two pairs and ice dance teams will join the cast.
They will invite at least one Japanese junior skater like Yuzuru Hanyu 2010 and Risa Shoji last year.
