^^^ Thanks vigiliae for taking the time to report on FSU. You are a gem! The ladies' results are closer. Wow..Kurt is doing well considering his age! Great to hear the skaters are giving their best despite not having done competitive figure skating for years. Keep your report coming.

Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you for these details!

Quite a close competition between the men besides Jeff and Phillippe.

Can't wait until videos of these events find their way onto YouTube...

Kudos on Yagudin for trying 3S n combination jumps since he;he hadnt dont them for years.
Ilia was in great form. 2footed on 3F but huge 3Lz n 3Lz2T IIRC.
My reason of coming Japan was Kurt's singing in the rain and he never dissapoint. great use of pro throughout the program. shame on the 2s; otherwise it would be epic.
Jeff and Ilia's program had some COP impression and IMO it affected on the score. JIMO though. They were also in the best physical condition.
Overall a good comp. Enjoyed ladies competition a bit more.
Thank you so much for the review. Sounds like a good competition all around, I'd love to see the programs, heck I'm even nostalgic for Candeloro's back flip.

You can find judges' scores here:

    http://www.jsfresults.com/InterNatio.../mwo/index.htm

Didn't know that they would be judged by the new rules almost in the same way.

If you are talking about the .pdf documents, they require the downloading of a "font package" according to the note that popped up for me. Once I downloaded and installed them, I was able to open the detailed scores pages with no problem.

I am very happy for them all - Jeff and Kurt did particularly well. And Ilia, as always, maintains his form and I don't see how he has done that while opening a new business and working all day every weekday with his students for their competitions. The fact that the guy finds time to eat amazes me...

I think it's fantastic that all these professional skaters took the time and gave this event such focus. It's always enlightening to see what maturity can do in terms of programs and equally astonishing what they can do technically so many years after leaving eligible training. Wonderful athletes, all of them!

I saw these scores and thought "WOW!! Those are some impressive SP scores! Did Jeffy go for a 3A?" Then I realized, nope, they're LPs (albeit rather abbreviated, by the looks of it) Still, sounds like some great skating by all!! Judges are certainly spread thin this weekend between this, Ondrej Nepala, and Finlandia.

Actually, they are neither - but they are actually closer to SP than to LP, because there's only 7 required elements in this competition while the LP (for senior men) has 13.

I believe the required time on the men's programs was 3:30 and the women's a little shorter. Regulation men's LP is 4:30 (+/- 10 sec) and regulations ladies 30 seconds shorter. So in duration terms they are not LPs either.

Don't forget the judges at the JGP event in Zagreb, Croatia! Definitely a time of heavy demand for judges and other officials!

Even if I can't see this, I'm thrilled there is an event that still encourages the pros to compete and lets fans see some of the "fan favorites" who are no longer eligible. to the Japanese fans for supporting this event!

I believe this is it, as medals were given out already. It's too bad, I would've loved to see two performances from all of these skaters!
