PML that Liz arrives in time for Robbie Williams. I'll bet she's gutted he isn't singing "Rock DJ".

Wouldn't it be hilarious if Elton John sang "Candle In The Wind" ?

Am I safe in assuming that Sex Bomb and You Can Leave Your Hat On were not the 2 songs?
(Looking forward to seeing the concert on delayed ABC broadcast tomorrow night.)

Madness and the lighting on Buckingham Palace was very clever.

Mr. allezfred asked when Paul McCartney came on, "Can we just fast forward this bit?"

Paul McCartney having problems hitting some of them notes - it's a tad painful to listen to . Maybe Lizzie can sneak in early to light the beacon and set fire to Paul by mistake

Well of course they did. As the Patron and also main Royal that worked on the River Pageant, Charles *would* be the one to greet HM and Phillip on their arrival yesterday. It wasn't them being out in front to parade Camilla, but just the way things work. As I understand it, if a Royal is a Patron who has been very hands on at the planning of an event HM will be attending, then they will be the ones to greet her at the actual event.

Could be wrong on that, but it's what I've noticed over the years and Christopher Warwick also mentioned that as well yesterday during the CTV coverage.

BTW...Congratulations on the quick sale of your house and Good Luck w/the move!!

Yes, he'll be 91 on the coming weekend, so even w/him being in the shape he's in, this isn't something to fool around w/. The timing of it all just out and out plain stinks though. It makes watching HRH standing for the entire event yesterday even more amazing.

I also just heard one commentator say that if there were events of the Weekend to miss, yesterday would have been the one that Phillip would have hated missing as a Navy man. It is just out and out a shame regardless.

A very speedy recovery to HRH!!

But it was so fun watching the royal barge dock! I enjoyed hte BBC commentary, even the cutaways (corgi cake!) Glad I turned on the TV when I did.
*blinks* Commander Lightoller? *That* Commander Lightoller? Commander Lightoller of the RMS Titanic Commander Lightoller?

How in the name of everything Royal and Holy did the commentators on Cdn TV miss giving us *that* piece of information if so!?! The Dunkirk Little Ships really were amazing to see.

And yes, there was a Maori War Canoe as part of the Manned Ships portion of the Pageant and they were pretty impressive to see.

I saw the final part of the Concert w/Charles' speech, HM lighting the National Beacon and those out of this world fireworks. What a show!!

I just wish there'd been a way to watch the entire thing live instead of the packaged thing we'll be getting here in North America tomorrow night.

We can hope that, in time, some of these events might appear on YT's "The Royal Channel".
