In a weird twist of fate, Michael Jackson is playing on my iTunes as I read this today...and I feel very, very old.

Absolutely loved her music. Hope the true details of all the controversy about her anti gay comments are able to come to light now. I'd hate for the misunderstandings cloud anyone's judgement about her contribution. I personally would love to know one way or the other. RIP Donna, thank you for making me want to be a bad girl.

I loved "Love's Unkind" and "Back in Love Again" from "I Remember Yesterday" also, for the 50's and '60s Motown vibe in each respectively.

I have the most amazing mix of State of Independence I'll be listening to for days now. She and G.M. were legendary.

This is a shock -- a very sad shock. RIP, Donna. May you dance "The Last Dance" somewhere forever.

Donna Summer and Adam Yauch in one month - totally different music genres but both gone way too soon

"Bad Girls", "I Feel Love" and "She Works Hard (for the money)"...what a legend!

This is so sad! I had no idea that she was ill.

I am going to listen to Last Dance today, in honor of Donna.

I too have been a fan since the 70s. Her voice was truly one of the best in music, and her songs were the soundtrack of my youth. I even had a big long perm like hers circa 1983.

Goodbye, Donna. Dance in Heaven, girl.
Give me one more quiet night, before this loud morning gets it right, and does me in.

RIP Donna, and thank you. We had fun back then and you were a big part of that.
Boy was she ever. She was our fave. RIP Donna, didn't know the Last Dance was coming so soon.
I think I will have a snack and take a nap before I eat and go to sleep.
