    skatesindreams Hugs! I know your Mom's spirit is with you always. I'm so thankful that my Mom is still present with me in this life. I've learned so much from her and about her as she has aged. She has had some serious health issues over the past several years, especially recently, so I give thanks and I feel so blessed that she is still here with me and my siblings, through the grace of God.

    My mother died in 2009; at 87.

    She began life in a log cabin in Kentucky; made her way to NYC and a career in modeling/fashion merchandising, where she met my father.
    After coming to Florida, she taught English in 7th, 8th, and 9th grade for almost 30 years.
    When she "retired", she returned to merchandising, working until shortly before her death.

    She was a beautiful, highly accomplished, woman.

    Many of her students told me that she was the best teacher they ever had.
    She left a wonderful legacy.

    ^^ Thanks for sharing that about your mother, skatesindreams. It must be wonderful to know that she lives on and is still present in the hearts and minds of so many whom she touched during her remarkable journey. You should write a book about your Mom!

    My Mom is 80, soon to be 81. It gives me a great deal of joy and laughter to sit and talk with her. She had a modest and difficult life, but she has great strength, wit, humor and insight.

    Just had Mother's Day lunch with my very ancient mother, my daughter and grandsons.
    Handed Mom over to caring attendants afterwards for a general sluice down and change of clothes. Best Mother's Day present ever....
