I think that the Beijing drummers were so awesome that nothing could compare with them and that's been discussed already on tv - I'd love to see synchronised maypole dancers, a Welsh choir and Morris dancers, kilted Scotsmen and Irish riverdance ...
But I won't hold my breath

LOL it's not enough to put up the torch for sale on ebay (which I think it's perfectly fine), now the flame itself is being put up for purchase!!

    And Navka today too!
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.

From the BBC Torch Feed thingy

1241: The next torchbearer is Olympic gold medal-winning ice dancer Tatiana Navka. The Russian also won two world titles in her career. Last year she became became a 2014 Winter Olympics ambassador. A few spectators wrapped in Russian flags stand to watch her set off.

Just watched John Kerr, he ran most of the way

    BBC is so lame:

1855: And here comes Broxburn-born John Kerr, 32, and his sister Sinead have been the top British ice dance pair since 2003, winning six consecutive British Ice Dance titles since then.

They placed eighth when they represented Team GB at their second Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010.

Will he dance down the street with the torch?

Torchbearers included John Legend - an American singer-songwriter who has won nine Grammys - and Scottish former ice dancer John Kerr.
John Kerr tweeted this photo of himself before the relay: http://twitter.com/Jkerrbear/status/...779200/photo/1
    And tweeted afterwards:
Awesome time carrying the #Olympicflame. Also enjoyed sharing the moment with @johnlegend
Found this photo tweeted by ‏@map1e23:
"Scotland's international ice skater John Kerr (without Sinead) in front of the Olympic rings at the Mound in Edinburgh": http://s1212.photobucket.com/albums/...urrent=042.jpg

    Also in the BBC article:
Joseph Forrester, 13, led a group of children from Madras College across West Sands Beach beach in St Andrews to recreate the scene in the film Chariots of Fire - in which the beach doubles as Broadstairs in Kent.

Russia’s figure skating champion Tatiana Navka and the famous blogger Evgeny Kozlov shared their impressions with the VoR.

Scotland was chilly and rainy but when the torch-carriers approached the capital the sun went out. It was great to run along the sun-lit ancients streets, being welcomed by locals, says Tatiana Navka. “To carry the torch and feel everybody’s love and support was one of the best things I’ve experienced in my life. It’s a great honor and I’m so proud to be one the carriers”, Tatiana says.

"It was a grand celebration for Edinburgh. Everyone smiled when they saw the torch-carriers and wanted to take a picture with us, as if to be part of something sacred. After the relay, I was given the torch as a gift and now keep it at home for luck."

THOUSANDS of people are expected to line the streets of Nottingham to welcome the Olympic flame when it comes to the city on Thursday.

Day 41 of the national relay will see the torch taken onto the ice in the National Ice Centre and past the Robin Hood Statue, as well as taking in a number of city and county landmarks including Nottingham Castle and Sherwood Forest.

More than 30 torchbearers will carry the torch through the city centre, where Olympic ice skating champions - and Nottingham legends - Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will perform a routine on the ice with the torch, before they then light the Olympic cauldron in Old Market Square just before 7pm as part of a two-hour extravaganza of free entertainment.
Anyone here attending this sold-out National Ice Centre Ice Gala on Thursday 28 June with special guests Torvill & Dean?

live feed if anyone's interested, currently running through Sheffield via the European Championships venue.

Love watching the Police outriders stopping traffic as the convoy passes at high speed (between towns on the motorways)
