This is an example of a skater who doesn't need to be taught to use music. She just does and it is so innate and intuitive. Even if a choreographer gave her the moves, the interpretation has totally come from her. And not a wasted note of music and so many interesting moves and ideas. Thanks for posting because it was really worth seeing that.
What the hell is a Ninja Twizzle? Does it have anything to do with hard shelled aquatic life forms that live in the sewer?

I wonder if Kwan was inspired by Ng to take her senior test early (w/o Frank's knowledge) and debut at Senior Nationals at the age of 12?
I would be surprised that any adult came up with a program like that for a 12 year-old. She seems to have an inner-fabulousness. Eat your heart out Johnny!

Ha ha, why does Johnny need to "eat his heart out?" Most likely if Johnny saw this vid of Ng, he'd be amazed, amused, perhaps inspired, and clap right along with the rest of us.

Please let someone use this demented genius music next year. I love it.

Is Sinead really wearing Daisy Dukes??? Good God, she came *thiiiiiiiis* close to making me hetero. (But then I remembered her hot brother wearing a kilt, and I was back to my old self again.)

Thank you. That was remarkable. She may never have had a great eligible career, but she oozes choreography and musicality from every pore. Just remarkable -- and would have been remarkable if she were 18 or 25.

I'll bet Johnny would covet that leotard she is wearing in the fluff piece.

She needs to do choreography for some of these COP programs that everyone finds so generic. She reminds me of Sarah Kawahara as a skater.

I remember that Scott Hamilton sputtered "but that's a woman's role!".

His skating to the music from Swan Lake didn't bother me as much as it did Scott, but the costume got distracting after awhile. Also the music cuts started getting bizarre.

Full disclosure: I too, have had some skating moments that have provoked an unintended laugh. :
And the progarm actually opens with "Sleeping Beauty" lol...largest sleeves evah!

Sort of off topic, but has any skater ever dared to use John Cage's 4'33" for a performance?

Other than the inadvertent partial performance of 4'33" that Rodnina & Zaitsev skated through at the 1973 World figure skating championship, no, at least AFAIK.

Yes - T&D used if for the start of their Oscar Tango program.

Hee. My synchro team did once, inadvertently. Coach forgot the CD and had forgotten to give some of the skaters a backup CD. . . .

That is so unbelievably wrong for a 12-year-old. . .

As for the actual music in Oscar Tango, it is a piece by the Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

Maciej CIEPLUCHA's program itself is pretty conventional, but I do love the farty music:

I'm having a hard time figuring out who gets the John Cage joke and who doesn't.

I know who John Cage is.
My choir sang some of his music when I was in high school.
However, I don't get the joke, either,
