Just a warning to any "nice" or "decent" folks going; the Panties for Patrick duo will be in da house, and methinks our goal this time will be hurling plastic mini-bottles of vodka at Trankov. Hide your children and small pets, and belly up to the bar!

Hide your little bottles well, then: I once idly asked a security person what he was looking for when they search our bags before letting us into the venue, and his response was "alcohol."

I am flying to California out of Seatac, so I decided to drive over to the Showare Center. The outdoor mall is a very easy walk from the arena, and there are quite few restaurants (a Chipotle, sushi restaurant, Johnny Rockets). Although I didn't really check too carefully, I did not see any hotels nearby.

Other than the arena and mall, it's kinda in the middle of nothing. I would not want to rely on public transit. Have a car.

Holiday Inn and Suites Kent is one mile from the arena and their shuttle will take you to and from it. I'm going to book there.

The complimentary shuttles offered by many of the nearby hotels were designed to transport a few people at a time at different hours. A large number of guests wanting to head to the arena or, more likely, return from the arena at the same time is going to present a problem for them. I spoke with a desk clerk at one of the hotels nearby that offers shuttles, and she said getting guests to the Showare and picking them up during the day would not be a problem and they were happy to do it. But picking up a lot of guests at the event after their normal shuttle business hours would be a problem and not possible (although if most of their guests end up being Skate America guests, I'm guessing management might be more accommodating and hire extra shuttles for extra hours, the way the Holiday Inn I was staying at did for SA one year). If you are counting on your hotel shuttling you to and from the venue at will, I would recommend making sure they understand how late the Friday and Saturday night events will be getting out, and that they may have a large number of guests who will need that service.

Stick them in your coat pocket... I am just saying... I have smuggled more food/water etc into skating areans simply by moving it OUT of the bag LOL!

Do we get to help you empty them first?

    I want to go, too!

I tried to plan to come but then I figured out that it was October 20th. Which happens to be when my brother is getting married. In Connecticut. So not so much.

Speaking of panties......some of you already know that the "PANTIES" banner went missing in Nice. I can do another one, if we are going to keep this going.
I'm not attending SA this year, so I'll need a volunteer to take delivery of the banner and hang it in the arena.
Are people still planning to fling? Let me know, so I can stock up when I come across any lurid thongs on sale.
Another thought - wouldn't it be cool to have some tee shirts made up? Or at least one, to give to Patrick?

Evan Lysacek is in London, having been sent there by HiltonHHonors, Title Sponsor of 2012 Skate America. He was spotted there with Nastia Liukin at the America House.

@HiltonHHead retweeted @EvanLysacek tweet sent tonight to his followers: This is the tweet:
"August 9, 2012 Thank You to @HiltonHHonors for hosting me in London for a very exciting announcement I'll be making tomorrow morning on @TodayShow. Tune in."

Here's a link telling about the hotels near the ShoWare Center in Kent. It also says to ask about HHonors Skate America prices:
