Oda's son* was born in October 2010, I think - I think it's safe to say by now that he's not going to quit because he has a family. As Marco wrote earlier, Kozuka hasn't exactly done himself any favors in the past season, and Oda still has a shot if he skates well and takes remedial math.
* Oda recently posted a picture of himself with his son on Twitter - so cute!
A bit late but re Joubert's choice of music, I believe some of his fans have been after him to skate to the Inception soundtrack pretty much since the movie came out. It does seem like a very good fit for his style.
Akiko's latest blog post says she's almost done choreographing her new EX number with Massimo!![]()

Oda's choices are interesting; and I believe they suit his style.
I wish him a successful season.

I know Kozuka had a rough season, I just sort of don't see the Japanese Fed leaving someone who won a world silver medal and scored 180+ for a FS off the World team in favor of a skater who has never medaled at Worlds, has a PB FS score of (only - comparably) 163+, and has shot himself in the foot time and again with his inability to correctly count combination jumps. And I think even if Takahashi and Hanyu were to have rough seasons and Oda beat them at Nationals, they'd still be on the World team regardless. Maybe not though.
Trankov just tweeted that the FS is done.

Please kill me.![]()
For me, this is the most annoyingly overused piece of music used in skating.
Especially given that appalling, cheestastic arrangements of it are usually used.
Understandable. I do like Mrvica's arrangement, IMO it's slightly more tolerable![]()
But, Ziggy, Miner plans to "portray the character of an illusionist" (according to the post/article I linked) - at least that's a creative interpretation of his SP music.![]()
Re-posting from the Pre-season OES/OAS News thread in GSD:
Looks like Denis Ten is working with Lori Nichol again.

Mrvica arrangement is the one that makes wanna lose the small remainder of my will to live. ;P
