The Duchesnays used
The Lonely Goatherd from the "Sound of Music"
No. It's in ithyphallic rhythm.
Polka is 2/4 with 120 beats per minute.
But that didn't stop coaches from claiming a tango was an acceptable waltz rhythm either.
...but my favorites from 1992 were:
Rahkamo & Kokko non-Yankee Polka
and
the incomparable Klimova & Ponomarenko
"He's so approachable and if she were anymore beautiful, she wouldn't look real." - Scott Hamilton on Meryl and Charlie
Meryl Davis and Charlie White - 2011 World Ice Dance Champions and 2013 World Ice Dance Champions!
Actually, it'll be the Finnstep.
I so hope someone does that Weird Al polka...
We do have to revisit this particular music choice by the Beiers from 2007

What the hell is a Ninja Twizzle? Does it have anything to do with hard shelled aquatic life forms that live in the sewer?
Doris, could you jump ahead a year and give some examples of the Finnstep?
It may take me a while.
The Finnstep is based on Rahkamo & Kokko's OD to Borsalino, of course.

But I'm guessing
Girls, Girls, Girls
Grishuk & Platov used it, and it was great

Tanith and Ben used it too:

is next year's Mas Que Nada.
And that we see
Let's Face the Music (and Dance) again too.
I'll try to find some less used items.
To get you all started, this might work
Gene Kelly & the Worry Song

and there are over 300 quickstep songs listed at Ballroom Dancers dot com
