I don't think he needs to change choreographer. Whatever people want to say, Lori is one of the best in the world, and she seems to understand Chan's ability and choreo based on his skill. I don't mind him using someone for the SP thought. I'd love him to use his Gala number, with a bit of tweaking as his new SP.

Jeff's choreo for his exhibition was great, but I've heard that Lori 'gets' him like no other - things like knowing that he prefers certain steps into certain jumps to help him get secure and feel prepared for it - I'm sure Jeff (or whoever) could learn that, but he's worked well with Lori for so long.

Whatever happens, at least the timing of the split is better than the timing of his last split - he has a full season before the O's season now, instead of how it was during the last O's season. Hopefully he finds a good fit.

I'm thinking though that he might stay with just Johnson in Colorado and then have someone in Toronto who will work on the more technical aspect with him, like Orser.

I'm sure he will. He, above all, wants to stay on top of things. Stupid, he is not, and neither are his parents. I talked to them while waiting for Patrick at Skate Canada a 3 years ago and they seem to be a very nice couple with his best interests at heart.....also it will be easier for him if he wants to take some university courses there in Toronto, and the family which has been living apart for quite some time will get to spend more time together....That, in itself, is motivation for the change.
