I think Tess Johnson has already graduated from Parsons, and I don't think the Ex costume is designed by Tess? Looks like a mix-match from Patrick's former wardrobe. Also, I am quite sure Tu Ly is still Patrick's official costume designer.

I wonder about that as well. I know you need to have level 3 certification to be at the boards at Canadian Nationals. How does that work if the coach isn't Canadian? Level 3 is A LOT more than just an on-line test. There is theoretical and practical work, including submitting a video.

David Wilson choreographed the exhibition program he skated at Canadians (diff from the one at worlds by Buttle). I heard that David will be his new choreographer, although I could perhaps see Buttle doing the short. Who knows? It would certainly save money to keep the long program, and this seems to be Chan's pattern.

This is what makes me sad - already a generation of skating fans who don't know her.

On a happier note, and continuing thread drift , according to Wiki Angela and Ivan are expecting their first child next month! He was always one of my favourite skaters to watch too, so nice to see them happy.

That's wonderful news- all the best to them! I loved her skating so much.

This is now making me wonder what my other favorite skater from that time (Matt Savoie) is doing these days.....

Patrick's girlfriend is the one in the middle, however, someone thinks she looks like the comedian Sarah Silverman.

lol... this thread seems to have gone so off topic, reading only the last page and the first thought was wow the coach resigned over the girlfriend and costumes?

Parson is a great art school, probably the best in US so is good to know he has great people watch out for him (although I still think the Aranjuez costume screams Red China rather than Passionate Spanish. If the red is tinted slightly darker, it would make all the difference)

Attractive wise, I though Patrick might look good with some facial hair to look more maturer and settled for that program, but I don't think the world ever had any male skater champion with facial hair?

On the other hand David Wilson is hardly a surprising choice (He choreographed all Yuna ice shows Patrick took part) and he seems to be so fun around which makes him a great motivator to improve the artistry Patrick wanted to concentrate on. Personally, I thought Patrick really impressed me this year with his improvement in his expressions. He is not the most musical skater around but he has an internalized rhythm which is quite mesmerizing when done perfectly, that remind me of watching Taichi.

Patrick's biggest weakness right now is probably complacency and boredom since he has achieved everything minus OGM, and actually having Daisuke and Hanyu so close at heels and beating him in TES these days might be the best thing to have happened to him these past year. Moving on from Lori is also a great decision, since I have always thought Lori designs for what suited to the skater to max out the scores, but hardly ever push them to exceed themselves beyond what is known already.
