She ran out of helium to make his head any bigger?
God told her to?
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry
This story implies that this was Chan's decision - but offers no details, while this one says that Krall resigned. Is this going to be a-worthy split, then? It seems kind of unusual to do such a thing, and the timing as well.
I believe this is true (Lori Ewing is a reliable journalist AFAIK) - ETA: refer to article links posted above.

Coaching Change for Chan
OTTAWA, ON: Christy Krall and two-time World Champion Patrick Chan have concluded their coaching relationship, following Krall’s indication of her decision to resign from Chan's coaching team, which was accepted. While the two have parted ways, it was with sincere best wishes to one another for the future.
Krall, based in Colorado Springs, CO, was a valued member of the team which coached Chan to his two world championship titles in 2011 and 2012.
Chan will continue to work with Kathy Johnson, as he revamps his coaching team. He will maintain his current training base in Colorado Springs, CO with more frequent return visits to his home in Toronto, Ont.

I'm surprised because things were going well!
Perhaps the hand of God developed a twitch

And the off-season is officially ON.![]()
How long has she been his primary coach? (at least in the K&C)
So SHE resigns as his coach? Wow.
Didn't see this one coming.
Yeah, it's like S&S leaving Steuer or something. I was trying to think of other examples of coaching switches that occurred while the skater was world champion.... there was Alexei Yagudin leaving Mishin after winning 1998 Worlds and G&P leaving Linichuk as 3x World champs and Oly champs. In both cases, though, there was a rival within the same group commanding the coach's attention, which is an issue Chan doesn't have. If it was Chan's choice as implied in earlier posts, that is very strange indeed, but he seems to be very smart and strategical so there must be a reason (and like you I hope Krall is ok).
This reminds me of Orser/Yuna split all over again. Things seem to be going fine then boom! Maybe she was taking on too many other students and Patrick didn't want that?
Chan had already stated that for the next two years he missed being in Toronto and hoped to be skating more here so this is a natural progression.
Perplexing. He was doing so well with her.![]()
