The Japanese Nationals prior to Sochi will once again be a catfight - not only Miki and Mao but Akiko, Kanako and Satoko Miyahara, who is a real dynamo and did great in her Jr G-P events this past season. Miyahara has the potential to beat them all in a couple of years, IMO. [Age-eligible, I believe, as her b'day is 3-26-1998...will be 'almost 16' during the Sochi games....3 mos older than Lipnitskaia...IDEAL AGE-SITUATION for both Lip and Miya!]

I can't wait to see both Lip and Miya in their Sr G-Ps this coming season.

Miki, Kanako , Mao and Akiko will be battling it out
but Miyahara ? she is very musical but the technique , she is prone to underrotation because of her bent knees, its so ugly to look at her jump landings she leans her knees forward so much.

I cringe watching girls like Miyahara, Sakhanovich with their bent knees
If this isn't fixed, she won't survive all her jumps once she hits puberty

I like Miyahara too but agree about the jumps, the technique is bad and they get even less height than Shoji's, and at least Shoji is grown, Miyahara is nowhere close to 5 ft tall and probably weighs about 60 pounds and her jumps are still tiny and ugly - I have my doubts whether they will survive puberty. I suspect the 3-3s definitely won't unless she can fix her technique stat.

General rule: if they were old eonugh to compete on the JGP this season, they're old enough for the Olympics. If they were not old enough for the JGP this year, then they aren't old enough for the next Olympics.

Year 1: JGP eligible.
Year 2: GP eligible.
Year 3: Worlds/Olympics eligible.
