Yea!
Yea!
I hope Carolina, Akiko and Asley (or Kanako)
If Gracie makes the top 6 i think that is a good result. She's facing the top 5 finishers from Worlds so she's getting thrown into the fire right of the bat. Good thing it's a team event though. I have a feeling she will do well.
IMO both Adelina and Gracie have a chance to medal here. If they land their jumps and others miss, they could overtake the more experienced skaters. I don't believe either one can win the competition, but a bronze or even a silver is not out of the question for either one.
I want to see Ashley do well! As always, of course.![]()
I voted Carolina, Alena, and Ashley.. could be Akiko too but I have a feeling Ashley's going to be on the podium so she has to bump someone off, and Akiko's not always that consistent.
I think the most important factor of this competiton is JAPAN. Japanese skaters will be held up a la NHK trophy. I predict, Suzuki, Murakami and Kostner. Although American fans seem to have very high expectations on this event (partly as a redemption of worlds), American skaters have not fared well at NHK trophy in past.
I would be surprised to see Murakami medal here. She hasnt had a strong LP all season. Also the judges will favor someone like Leonova over her, all things being equal, even in Japan.
I would not be surprised. Murakami will be placed above Wagner if both of them skate like at worlds (with the home advantage). Wagner should have realized the "home" boost at 4CC in Colorado. Something more blatant could happen here. Leonova rarely skates well back to back. I doubt she has strong motivations this time. Murakami's FS is getting better as the season goes on. That leaves only Suzuki and Kostner.

Another factor to be considered... it'a a TEAM competition.
Objective speaking, Japan's win is highly likely. If the other countries want to drag rival's feet, they have all the means throughout the disciplines. For example, if the Canadian judge wants to catch up with the US, she can boost Murakami's score to make sure she surpasses Wagner (Gold). The Italian judge can narrow/overtake the gap with Russia by ****ing the scores of Murakami and Leonova (Sotnikova). If you're expecting a "fair" competition, sorry, but it must be a very interesting "game".
Go Ashley!!
Go Carolina!!
Go Akiko!!![]()
