Exciting news about Alexe! Wish more US girls who will never make team usa could go that route.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kiri were able to do a 3T+3T. She has a wonderful triple toe. I wonder if she's working on the combo?

[QUOTE=skfan;3658546]eh, didn't i hear she was considering representing canada? she is not very likely (w/o massive improvements) to make US nationals out of the midwestern sectionals this year. after all, her mother is becoming a canadian citizen to help sister piper of piper gilles/paul poirier fame eligible to represent canada in the olympics. Osmond is good, but if Alexe were to get back to peak form, I could see her challenging any/all of Osmond/Lacoste/Phaneuf. Not Rochette though.

I just watched the Glacier Falls LP videos on IN to get a better view -

Mirai - a good start. I'm happy that she executed a 2x-3t so easily this early in the season and avoided falls and step-outs while doing 6 triples. I'm hoping that her jump landings will get cleaner as she progresses this season. And I'm assuming that her lack of expression was more due to concentrating on a new program, not a general unhappiness a la last season.

Vanessa - She has an entertaining program which is a step up for her. I don't see her just skating thru the music anymore. I wish she'd get more lift on her jumps. I hope she doesn't repeat last year where she killed in the summer but flatlined the rest of the year.

Courtney - 3f+3t! Her 3f and 3l are BIG! Killer hair and make-up ... Bolshoi Ballerina levels. But, she seems to ignore body lines, especially on the in-betweens. She would benefit monstrously from paying attention to that ... and can't she do a hair-cutter w/ 8 revs instead of the Biellmann? Her Biellmann isn't that great. She can't even get her leg up all the way!

Alexe will be competing for Canada too? What's Todd waiting for then, isn't there a Canadian ice dancer in need of a partner?

She's far from it though. :/

I originally posted this in the general U.S. Club Competitions thread in Kiss and Cry:
    Cranberry Open Sr Ladies top 2 in SP: Yasmin Siraj 54.16, Christina Gao 52.27;
Top 3 in FS: Gao 93.21, Siraj 92.09, Aimee Buchanan 82.53.
No other details at this time.

I'm told that Ashley Wagner did not skate her SP last night; don't know if she plans to debut her FS later today (she'll get feedback on her programs at Champs Camp next week anyway).

ETA: My hearsay info is that Ashley will not be competing her FS either.

Thanks, Sylvia. Sounds like Yasmin had a decent SP. Gao sounds like she did OK

I know we can't compare all these scores across the club competitions but is anyone running a top scores list like last season? It was cool information to know.

    ^Great list, Sylvia!

I assume that all the skaters listed under 'Senior' will compete as a Senior at '13 Nats, even if they are listed to compete as Juniors on the Fall Circuit?? and those listed under 'Junior' will compete as a Junior only at '13 Nats?

Except for those who place 5th or lower at their sectionals or regionals and don't qualify for Nationals at all.

WOW that was amazing for Mirai. That layback was one of the best she has down recently.
