I wish him continued success, I enjoyed his athleticism over the years.
Is it primarily a speed skating rink? They might be banked a bit?
Oh this is sad news.
Well, the best of luck to Kevin in all his future endeavors!

He is a real athlete and did the best he can, considering his natural abilities.
CONGARTS for this very good career !

And now that Jenna is staying eligible, Kevin can become the male Euro version of Lisa Thornton-Weiss .
He is one of my favorite skaters. I will miss him. But I'm happy his last performance as a competitive skater was so great.
Thank you for a lot of wonderful performance, Kevin. Remember Belgian men have two spots for 2013 Euro.

It's amazing what he was able to do considering the little ice time he had and the few resources as compared to other countries. Belgian skating owes him a lot.
In my spare time, I like to interview figure skating legends.
What a great interview! Very honest, I love it.
I will miss his great jumps! When will we see a 3-3-3 like that again?
It reminds me of the story of the diva soprano (Caballe, IIRC?) who was given direction on where to move during her aria. Her reply was basically: I either sing or move, I don't do both at the same time.
We look forward to little Vandercorklles at the 2034 Olympics!
manleywoman, I hope if KvdP is ever somewhere that you can interview him (say with a Belgian skater at Worlds in Canada this coming year) that you will!
I´m so glad that his last performance at worlds was so good
Most memorable KVDP peformances???? Anyone?
I remember seeing him in an exhibition in The Netherlands years ago....and without the pressure of competition, (wish I could remember the music)...he had so much fun with the program and the audience! :-)
Great article. Not to change the topic too much here, but which female skater was he referring to who won Worlds with only 3 triples?
Never mind, I misread the article - he said a woman could win a competition with 3 triples, not that a woman did win Worlds with 3. My mistake
