    Skater's favourite skaters

Just wanted to see if we could make a fun compilation of tids and tads from interviews/conferences/etc.

From the lp small medal ceremony in Nice:

Patrick's faves are Kurt Browning and Lambiel

Daisuke's faves are Patrick, Lambiel, Davis/White, and one more but I couldn't catch the name?

Yuzuru's faves are Patrick, Plushenko, and Johnny Weir.

    And in the coach/choreographer category:

Anjelika Krylova honourably mentioned Zhulin, Ponomarenko, and V/M (especially Moir) in a recent interview.

Oksana Baiul's favorite was Jill Trenary.Oksana said in 1993: She (Jill) is a real woman on ice.

Meno and Sand had said -they take inspiration from Gordeeva-Grinkov.

Berezhnaya-Sikharulidze took inspiration from G&G. Anton also liked Underhill-Martini.

Yuka Sato was considered a "skaters' skater". Scott Hamilton and Kurt Browning liked her skating. Also in Katia's book 'My Sergei' she wrote that during the 92 Olympics Sergei called her from another room and said(while watching)- hey, she is really good (I am paraphrasing; I don't have the book in front of me).

Shen & Zhao admired B&S, particularly during the 2002 Olympics. They said they (B&S) deserved to win the gold. It is to be noted that S&Z chose to skate to music used by B&S in the past (Meditation from Thais and Impossible dream).

Although S/Z said they liked B/S's skating... I'm 100% sure S/Z's idols are G/G as well. They said that many times in chinese interviews.

Feel like G/G are really the "God" of pairs skating, and rightly so. Still the best pairs team ever imo.

-Yes, I saw a fluff piece in which S&Z cited G&G as the ideal pairs team and noted that they frequently watched videos of their skating and tried to emulate their style (G&G are my all-time favourite pair team, too)

-I remember Katia saying that B&S were reminiscent of her and Sergei

-I believe one of Lu Chen's idols was Kristi Yamaguchi

-I read somewhere that Fumie looked up to Michelle and that Michelle taught her her first triple

-Joannie stated that Oksana Baiul and Michelle Kwan were inspirations when she was younger (and also expressed admiration for Mao Asada and Kim Yu Na)
    http://www.figureskating-online.com/...-rochette.html

-In the Q&A after the 4CC small medal ceremony, Patrick cited Daisuke as an inspiration and said that he had learned a lot from him
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcPQNItAd_Q

-Elena and Nikita have expressed admiration for Tessa and Scott on twitter and in an interview, respectively

-Tessa and Scott mentioned in the 4CC Q&A that they looked up to Shae and Vic and Marie-France and Patch
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KV5xk...feature=relmfu

-In the same Q&A session, Meryl said that she and Charlie spent a lot of time around and looked up to Punsalan&Swallow and Belbin&Agosto. She also mentioned that Charlie has always looked up to Todd Eldredge, and said that they both admire Scott Hamilton and Kristi Yamaguchi (for how they have handled their success)

-And also in this Q&A, Kaitlyn Weaver said that even when they were skating in different parts of the continent, she and Andrew really admired Bourne&Kraatz and Kaitlyn mentioned that Shae is a great role model (and Andrew nodded in agreement); Kaitlyn said that they also admire Kurt Browning as a skater and person

    Oh I remember some more.

Adam angel curls said he really loves Shae's skating. I seem to recall him saying he thinks she is the best skater.

Also Patrick mentioned in a QA with Kurt that he really admires Eldredge.

Zijun Li, Bingwa Geng, Vanessa Lam and Agnes Zawadzki expressed more than one times that their skating idol is Kim.

Polina S looks up to Dai and Yuna.

And, of course, every Korean skater competed internationally after Kim lists their no.1 idol as Kim

Yuna's no.1 idol is Kwan, as already well known, and she says her favorite skaters are Kwan, S/S, Stephane Lambiel, Jeremy Abbot, and V/M.

Patrick Chan said many favorite skaters-Kurt Browning, Scott Hamilton, Brian Boitano, Todd Eldridge, Alexei Yagudin, Ilia Kulik, Evgeni Plushenko, Elvis Stojko, Michelle Kwan, Stephane Lambiel, Jeffrey Buttle....
Especially, Kurt Browning is the best skater about Chan.

who would have thought, I never thought tuk tuk would like Chan, but i don't think Chan is her idol, maybe just admire him
to be like Patrick Chan, who is the best slide in the world.
and off topic, she looks like she gained weight.

hope she sheds those extra fats for next season, she still has 5 months to go for a healthy diet.
but I am happy she has 2 new programs for next season.

btw I think it was mentioned, Yuna is also a fan of Chan

Some skaters seem to give different answers to this depending on whom they are speaking to, where and when; I think it's something that can evolve over time.

The Kerrs have referred to the Duchesnays as an inspiration.

In his recent IN interview, Kevin van der Perren mentioned liking Brian Joubert's skating style.

Joubert is of course a fan of Yagudin's, and I remember him speaking very positively about Michelle Kwan and Savchenko/Szolkowy in the past.

Hurtado/Diaz like Anissina and Peizerat, and Hurtado I think is a fan of Davis and White (Diaz may be too, for all I know ).
