Oh.. I like Romania's.. that is different.. casual yet chic IMHO The GB athletic stuff is starting to grow on me.. saw some different pics of them from FB and thought they looked quite sharp.. but overall my top is still the Dutch.. When I'm over next summer I'm hoping I might be able to finally get some orange sporting wear I really like their winter and summer clothing.. they never disappoint..
Thanks to PI .. I discovered I'm actually a Nontheist

Clearly Germany was totally addicted to SS's Ken and Barbie program, they decided to conceive their Olympics uniform around it.

    http://tennis-buzz.com/german-olympic-team-uniform/

At least it is better than their 2008 efforts
http://www.thelocal.de/sport/20080501-11631.html (looks like they are playing for Netherland, what were they thinking!?)

Surprisingly, i realy like it. Youthful, vibrant. It matches the London 2012 Olympics colour palette well, one of the few designs referenced it properly (Something all designer should think about). Although the colour application has pushed back gender politics by about 20 years, pink for girl, blue for boy, really?! What imagination. They could have mixed and match a little.

But then again retro is in, apparently so is right wing politics in Germany, so it seems fitting. At least they are all wearing white pants and water proofs which are perfect for the English Summer! So we get form + function! The scarf might be a bit much, but then it can double as a hankie for these dreaded hay fevers, or a headscarf in case it drizzles!

I like the fact this is a practical gear they can get to wear well after the Olympics. Can't say the same for others national uniforms we have seen. many deserves to be exorcised/burned immediately and never to be seen again. Can't imagine many would be wearing them walking down London without people point and laugh. (yes I am talking about the Spanish Ming the Merciless effort.)

In conclusion, Germans are not boring or predictable as the Brit often thinks, in fact judging by their choice of uniforms, the opposite is true. This lot is ready for partying with the Jamaicans, while everyone else is there going through some boring ceremony in their unfortunate school attires - With the exception of French going for their own catwalk looking too kool for school; the Dutch the most preppy of the lot; while the Americans all wearing their pony ready for war.

To add a sarcastic snark re the GIANT PONY on the US uniforms and the fact that they're made in China: what could be more American than outsourced clothing with corporate identification? x infinity

Really liked the German pink hightops and Belize's women's hat, also the orange Dutch trench. I'm afraid Portugal looks like staffers at a convention for my former software employer. Why did Italy and France go black & white? You could have the same cut in more interesting colors. Yeah, yeah I know - minimalist chic and all that. Some of us look bad in black and white.

Jamaica's outfits will be flying off the shelves. The women's opening ceremony outfit is esp cute!

Ukraine's outfits are part of the reason we watch the opening ceremonies. Disco trainwreck! Fun!

re the poster who wondered how Dutch men could stand to wear a tulip...at the Salt Lake olympics, I went to a few speedskating events and the national warm-up jacket I most coveted was the Dutch one...a simple single tulip on the back. clean and stylish.

Big fan of Fila, thought they did a great job on the Korea National Uniform. (Though Men's socks was a bit much but then hey it is England might as well be dandy!)

Very nice - I feel sorry for the female atheletes, even if the heel is pretty low I would think it would be pretty gruelling to walk/stand in for the opening ceremony.

    I love the men's socks!

The poor guy on the right seems to have been shortchanged.

Men's cycling shorts should always be black. If you really want to be innovative, how about dark blue or dark green?
