Jamaica's got the most stylish opening ceremony outfits so far.
Some anger in Spain regarding their 2012 Olympic kits being supplied by Bosco Sport (Russia), rather than their own fashion industry.

Here's a glimpse at the 2012 Brasil kit .
No opening ceremonies apparel shown, just the uniforms for a few different sports. Nike is the partner (no mention of a designer).
Oooh, the Jamaican ones are awesome! I love the Dutch and French as well.
Americans are decent, even if the beret is stupid.
British uniforms boring and too blue.. I kinda like the Chinese one - they come across as being solid and strong.. Americans are too yacht club and also boring.. Irish with the teal/puke green not bad..bonus points for the Irish athletes getting to pick their own.. Jamaican and Dutch I like..
Thanks to PI .. I discovered I'm actually a Nontheist

If they didn't look like absolute crap, where they were made would probably make little difference. One of the guys on the handball team tweeted that nobody will get lost in the Olympic village now.

Gah! I hope this teaches the Spanish government (and the Spanish fashion industry) a lesson.
I'd say that Bosco offering to produce the kit for free was an offer that was hard to resist, although it might have been nice if one of the Spanish designers had been brought in to collaborate.
ETA. Fwiw, I don't think the Spanish opening ceremonies outfits are all that bad.![]()
I don´t feel right now any special love for Spanish Government but of this fiasco is just to be blamed the Spanish Olympic Committee, and his (no words can make justice to his level of competence, and not just cause this last one) President fault. They have full independence for this kind of contracts and decisions, and they should have asked for and approved the designs with more time. And now they should be forced to wear these themselves.
IMO these costumes are![]()

laughable. I guess Bosco really wanted to open a new market and so they made a good offer. If so, they really are now known, but I predict that after this their success in Spanish market will be, more or less, in the level of Pinocchio work chances in a sawmill

Come on, combining red and yellow is quite enough a task, for a reason our real sport equipments are usually just red, red and blue or red and white with just some yellow, usually small details but some exceptions. So why all those strange design details especially in the necks of the jackets and tracksuits.
Anyway this fashion nightmare is also positive, the jokes in the web are endless (like that these aren´t the clothes for winning gold but for stealing copper, or a poligonero (Spanish chav) dream if a big gold necklace had been added, or that our sport fashion is just in the same level of our economy, right at the bottom) and right now we need some laughs

Zorry my english, I´m a verrrrrry rude spaÑish

Although that Bosco sport shirt is truly hideous, cheer up, for the opening ceremonies it could be worse...
Have you seen what Portugal will be wearing?![]()
Here's a link to a blog with a dose of irreverent commentary on a few of the 2012 Olympic uniform kits...
