Irish Uniforms
Nothing too offensive, unless you don't like green.![]()
To think that fun is simple fun, while earnest things are earnest, proves all too plain that neither one thou truthfully discernest.
Stella get a free pass from me, considering some of the diabolical boring designs out there. I seem to reading about some controversy about the Adidas Australian Uniforms were all made in China. The 'Australia' font on that top should be bolder.
The US uniform looks like they are from the country of Polo, where's the USA bit or the colour? They should have it in Silver at least. With the belt, you can hardly see it.
Here's what Nike did for China. Personally as a Chinese not of Chinese nationality, I find that font is rather offensive and lack in imagination. Too safe, too lazy. It read like Chino from afar.

Here are the ceremony uniform, obviously designed by a different team. Unnecessarily fussy and look like they belong to a cruise ship as stewards. What a weird shade of red.

Why the berets? Has an American EVER worn a beret outside of the Olympics?
Buy it here: http://www.ralphlauren.com/family/in...mpiccollection
because who doesn't want a $55 beret and $600 blazer?
That polo pony has to go

I like those. Definitely a retro-void, that shade of red with the yellow-gold is quite strong. Like the typography as well
Indeed. I'm not so crazy about those ceremony uniforms.![]()
Jamaica's team uniform kits are one of the nicest I've seen so far. Designed by Cedella Marley for PUMA.

Love the military style jacket.![]()

Team GB opening ceremony wear - Perfectly nice if a bit conservative.
Spanish opening ceremony outfits - So hideous that they couldn't even get an athlete to model them.
Les Frenchies - This is the best one I've seen so far.![]()

Jamaican ones are the best so far. Stylish, contemporary, light-hearted. Really hip.
As far as opening ceremony outfits go: British ones are boring and conservative, Spanish are totally hideous.
French are definitely best so far. Smart casual ftw.
I liked the American ones too. A little on the safeboring side but elegant.
It looks FAB!
Great job!
Collars and shoes are red so stop whining about too much blue everyone. Red is a strong and attention grabbing so it makes sense to use it as an accent only.
I quite like this look, although the Polo logo is excessive. And no, people in the US do not typically wear berets, but they look good on the models, so... Hmm... Perhaps we *should* wear berets. Perhaps that's what Ralph Lauren is trying to tell us.
I'm just happy that we don't look like complete idiots. I remember some past years' Olys outfits which were justAt least these are pretty classic and will look good on an athlete's body. And they are *very* Ralph Lauren, very classic American in style, very country club. I like it.
Today is Doomsday. Alternate side of the street parking will be in effect.
I don't actually find that the double breasted jacket works that well for people with broad shoulders and wide chests, which a lot of the male athletes are.
Kevin: He compared Scott to a disposable feminine cleansing product one might use on a summer's eve.
Meagan: Yeah, and the bag it came in. -The Big Bang Theory, performed by the Canadian WTT team and interpreted by Cyn.
The US team opening ceremony uniforms look like someone who has a vague idea of how the French dress designed it so that we would look more French. Just...ergh. The berets look stupid.
The actual French, on the other hand, look pretty bangin'. So does Jamaica.
Usain nation rulez!! Love Jamaica's kit, actually am a big fan of Puma brand in general which probably helps. It has that fun, sporty, energetic, summer feel to it which is surely what Summer Olympics are all about.
In contrast, I also like French's simple, well cut cut, cool, tres tres chic look. They look so cool, i can't imagine anyone sweat underneath all that style.
Not sure about Britain's effort, sorry to say, why so blue this year .. too British Airways. They should pick something Aquascutum if they want to go for the Cool but still traditional Britannia look, this looks more like Marks and Spencers/Halifax building society! (or maybe that was the intention?! Good grief!!) But then I saw this for the medal presentation escorts uniform!! Looks like belong to a star trek movie
, so of course it would have to be designed by RCA students duh!!!. Biggest mistake was to go for a team of experimental designers, instead of one designer with a singular vision to have resulted in this mismash design by consent type of work that can only described as pastiche of cultural references.

Spanish is a bit uhmm Flash Gordon/Ming the Merciless isn't it hehee....
I just want to add, I was surprisingly underwhelmed by Italy's effort since I generally love their fashion sense and think they have the coolest police uniform on the planet designed by Armani. He released this collection for the Italian Olympics team back in May, it looks like my school kit! Why is everyone going so conservative?
