A fellow adult skating friend just did her first competition. I wasn't able to be there but asked how it was. She sent me an email reply which to sum up:
Incredibly nervous, excited, hearts a racing
Having trouble stroking
Spent the next day crying
Got back on the ice the next night and it wasn't too bad
Started planning for the next program
Now if that isn't the same as losing your virginity I don't know what is! All messy, kind of embarrassing and you are wondering what mistakes you are making. Then you kind of can’t wait to do it again.

What the hell is a Ninja Twizzle? Does it have anything to do with hard shelled aquatic life forms that live in the sewer?

I used to often think before stepping on the ice "why do I do this?". But as you said you can't wait to get out there again and again.
