Relay for Life - Skaters for a Cure! Come join us for an evening of figure skating on Friday, May 11th at 7 p.m. at the Kingston Bog in Kingston, Massachusetts (approx. 30 miles southeast of Boston). All funds raised will go to support breast cancer care and research at the MassGeneral Cancer Center.
I'm told that Ross Miner, Harrison Choate, 2012 U.S. Novice Pairs bronze medalists Alexandria Shaughnessy (event co-organizer) & James Morgan and other Skating Club of Boston skaters will perform.

The 4th Annual Tribute to Life skating exhibition will take place at Newington Arena in Newington, CT on Saturday, August 11th. As soon as I have headliner details, I'll post here. This show benefits the Cancer Center at Hartford Hospital, and is done in memory of Dave Drake, who was an adult skater in CT. Last year the Kerrs were the headliners, and they brought the house down!

Actually, the headliners for Tribute to Life have not yet been announced. Petrenko was the headliner a few years back (apparently the Newington Arena needs to update the site!) I will post updated information here as soon as I have it. Thanks!

"Celebrity Skate 2012" took place last Thursday at the Chelsea Piers rink in NYC with the purpose of raising money for Ice Theatre of New York's rehearsal fund to help defray the cost of renting ice. Dick Button was one of the judges and Sinead & John Kerr performed.

The event paired celebrities -- NY1 morning anchor Pat Kiernan; fashion designer Nicole Miller; and Dr. Robert Engle, winner of the 2003 Nobel Prize in economics -- with professional partners. A three-judge panel pronounced its verdicts, and audience members cast votes for the routine that inspired them the most.
