any schedules or information for this yet? I'm thinking of meeting my daughter there as she goes to school in Quebec and she could catch train from Montreal and I could drive up from Ontario? I do love the atmosphere of Lake Placid

Did I read that correctly? Does the women's final actually last 4 hours and 40 minutes (I hope not, since I'm driving home that night)?

It could take that long. 28 ladies = 5 flights: 5-5-6-6-6. There will be five 6-minute warmups plus two 20-minute ice resurfaces. Each FS is 3.5 minutes, plus another 3-4 minutes for the tech team and judges, and another minute for announcing scores and introducting the next skater.

I would really like to thank all those FSU members that are hoping to attend the JGP at Lake Placid. Skaters families really appreciate your support and so do the skaters. Lake Placid and the remodeled Olympic ice center is beautiful, you park your car and walk everywhere. Thank You.

Yes. Lake Placid is one of my favorite places to travel. Walkable, serene, and beautiful -- and the Olympic Center is gorgeous as well. This competition will be a real treat, so sad I cannot make it.

So who is going to this event? sylvia? Euterpe? Bibi? Missing, you're not going to be among the missing? I was hoping for company. PM me or reply here if you'd like to plan to meet up. I'll arrive mid-day Thursday.

I'm sorry you're not going too, Sylvia. I've admired your posts and the richness and accuracy of the information you always have. It would have been nice to meet you. I'll try to post a little on the play by play site you gave.

I love it when my gender is a mystery. Feel free to dump that "?".

My guess is my reports and impressions would be fairly useless. To me all lutzes are pure, all jumps are fully rotated, and all skaters are fabulous.

I am going!!!! Yippie.... but I don't understand where you get 28 ladies. I count 26 entries on the ISU site where they have the subs etc. But have a question, there is only 25 ladies now in the new entry list. Am I not understanding something? If it is 25 ladies, what three withdrew and why?

There were originally 28 ladies, but now it's down to 25. Withdrawn: Sindra KRIISA (EST), Alexandra KAMIENIECKI (POL) and Alisson PERTICHETO (PHI). No reasons are given for withdrawals.

25 ladies will mean 5 groups of 5 each, with a six minute warmup per group and two ice resurfaces. The FS will be about 20 minuites shorter with the withdrawals.
