Did you see this '99 FS Documentary on DISC Channel?

Kind of sad and cautionary seeing the profile on young Naomi Nari Nam. Did she ever make an Olympic team?

Interesting to see pic of young pairs skater, John Nicks, and to see him working with Naomi. Also, Kristi Krall appears and its interesting to see how she looked in 1999, as she talks about the physical and mental demands of figure skating.

Sadly, no. She never competed in a senior-level ISU championship, either. Her last appearance as a singles skater at US Nats was in 2000, when she finished in eighth place. She withdrew due to injury in 2001.

Whoah! Krall looks completely different without glasses and darker, longer hair.

Yes, she does. I don't remember whether I ever saw this before. It seems that the technical, computerized aspect was started around the time this was filmed, to help skaters maximize their jumping abilities. So it appears that Krall was one of the forerunners in finding new ways to help skaters ... which led to the current dartfish system? And later, to Patrick Chan coming to the U.S. to train with her?

Watching the parts with Naomi Nari Nam, does anyone else think that John Nicks is yelling at Sasha at this spot in the clip below? (Yelling actually starts around 12:04).

You could see Sasha skating around in the background in the other clips prior to this part of the video. LOL.
