Probably not just a rumour, because Johnny describes his first love so explicit (he was the winner of that and that championship etc.) that he's the only possibility left. In his book it actually seemed that the people close to them knew they were gay, because he says nothing about hiding his realationship with his first love. Also, according to Johnny Paris was just a friend.

She and Nikita are all huggy-kissy in the kiss n' cry and in pictures, there's nothing on her formspring saying she is DATING Morozov, just training with him. I am fairly certain she and Nikita are still a couple and that is much better as the age difference is less than 3 years and Nikita is not her coach nor a sleazy one at that! Elena is supposedly a very sweet and classy girl I don't think she is the type to dump her old boyfriend for a 35 year old coach with whom they have to train with everyday...
