So nothing was mentioned last night about there being an extra female added to tonight's show, right? Does anyone know why they did this with the men (if they're not also doing it with the women)? I could see if Jermaine was 28 and this was his last chance. But I think he's only 23? There was one woman who got cut (that I thought was really great) who said when she left, "that's it for me...I'm 28 and this was my last chance".

Can these people (both boys & girls) refuse a song? I thought they liked Hollie but this song choice is the kiss of death.

Some of these songs choices may have been welcomed by the contestants. Some of the contestants reportedly have sung some of these songs in the past, presumably by their own choice.

I read somewhere that for this first round, each singer gave the producers a list of songs to sing. Then the producers chose one song from each list for that singer. Not sure how much of that has to do with clearance issues and how much is strategy on the part of the producers. Either way, the songs everyone is singing is a song they did pick for themselves. Erika Van Pelt "What About Love." This doesn't suck but that's the best thing I can say. Is it me, or are all the arrangements this season more like lame karaoke than usual. It's hurting the singers.

This lady is one of the few folks I remembered from the auditions. I had high hopes. I am disappointed. What a draggy mess.
