It is Kwan and she always will be.
I voted for Kristi Yamaguchi. Even though she was pro some of the time she was easily the best female skater in the World from 1991-1995, and she would have still been competing with the likes of Kwan, Lipinski, and Chen for gold up until 1998 based on her skill set displayed in pro competitions.
Dorothy Hamill would have been my 2nd choice. Michelle Kwan and Janet Lynn my 3rd and 4th choices.
Although they won't be leaders in the poll, it would be nice to include Petra Burka and Karen Magnussen, since they are world champions, rather than relegating them to 'other'.
"I'm not in this world to live up to your expectations and you're not in this world to live up to mine."
Hughes and Lipinski wouldn't be on my list in the first place, but as for the rest, I might as well just pick one out of the hat.
The piece is seventy-five minutes long...[l]ong enough for an idea to be developed, but not so long that one starts to measure the number of seats to the exits with desperation if the thing doesn’t work" -- Marina Harss
Maybe rename it "How much do you like Michelle Kwan?"
Kwan wins. I LOVE it!
^^Another completely pointless poll...still, it's fun to see how badly Kwan crushes the competition!
So much for Kwan / Cohen rivalry. lol
She would've won this one I think even without the Kwan fans on the board. She really is the best, and 20 years from now she will still be the best because in NA she's left the biggest impact over the longest period of time. So many skaters over the past 12 years from NA have also had her influence in some way or looked at her as their idol, she's the current Olympic Champion's favorite skater and idol.
itaWhilst it was obvious Michelle would win, its very interesting to see where everyone else finishes. Lovely to see Janet Lynn in second!
But then again, these polls are always annoyingly skewered by the "I wasn't even born yet in 1998! " votes.
