    Well, it is an open secret that Matt is gay, but from what I saw in the clip he doesn't actually come out outright. As the article mentions, Jodie Foster publicly thanked her partner in a similar manner and AFAIK she isn't considered openly lesbian.

    I guess a lot of people and the media want people to say the words "I am gay" or "I am a lesbian" or whatever will work. I would much prefer to say "I am happily married/partnered and I have 3 wonderful children." It isn't some cold label and it says much more about the person, IMO.

    I thought he was already out, too. He's talked about his kids during interviews, I guess he never mentioned his partner?

    Too bad for those of us on the straight side, but he's still good-looking and I like his character on "White Collar." All the ladies that are infatuated with him will be disappointed if they thought they had a shot.

    When I told a friend of mine about MB coming out, she was all "Nooooooo!" I was like, "Oh, so you thought you would one day meet him at the Whole Foods in suburban Chicago, after picking up your nephews from school, and he'd fall in love with you, marry you and you guys would live happily ever after? Because celebrities who date & marry regular folk are a dime a dozen, you had a real chance with him?"

    Um, or a way less bitchy version of that...although, I had the same conversation with her about Zachary Quinto and Wentworth Miller, so I guess she's doomed to have zero celeb gaydar forever and I'm doomed to have The Talk with her each time. She's lucky she's such a great friend otherwise
