unfortunately most of the lethalities over the past couple of years of children in Supervised visitation situations have been when done in the community or in the home and not in a secure setting with trained staff.. seriously if the parent needs to be supervised it should be in a safe setting not in a home..

Awful. Just thinking about how he killed those two innocent children makes me sick to my stomach. And my heart goes out to Susan's grandparents, who lost not only their child but now their two grandchildren because of this monster. If there was even a shred of doubt that he killed her, it's gone now.

I hope the social worker gets the support and help she needs. What a terrible thing to go through.

When I read the story, I immediately thought of the Zachary Bagby case in Canada. If you've never seen the documentary, Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father, this case is similar.

I hope Josh Powell rots in hell.

I did too. I have never cried so hard because of a film in my life, and I definitely recommend it to everyone. I came away from it devastated but so admiring of the grandparents, who have been through so much but remain so strong.

These kinds of acts leave me completely speechless. What he did is just unspeakably evil. I don't know what else can be said.

My second reaction was to hope they continue their child porn case against his father. Since his arrest, I've always wondered if he was connected in any way to Susan's disappearance.

Good Lord!!! Too bad he died because prisoners are parents too and he would have deserved everything they would have done to him. The Cox family must be in hell right now. My prayers go out to them.

Just horrific and tragic. It brought back to my mind the local murder-suicide from 2009, where a father killed his two young sons and then hanged himself during an unsupervised visitation. His wife had tried unsuccessfully to have his access to the boys limited. The legal system truly failed this family, too.

The Westboro Baptist church will be at the memorial service for the boys on Saturday because apparently the gay marriage bill just passed up here caused Josh to kill the boys , and Occupy Seattle will be there to counterprotest. My uncharitable comment is that it's too bad it wasn't some of the hate-filled Westboro church gang who were in that burning house, instead of those two poor innocent boys.
