An old one: Eugene Turner (U.S. Champion 1940-41) was Cary Grant's skating double in the original version of The Bishop's Wife. Turner never got to complete in an Olympics because they were cancelled during WWII.

Thank you very much lavenderblue. I figured it was a Canadian team but they never got close enough to show any facial features, of course.

I just noticed that Alexandra Najarro is listed in that movie as one of the "Snowplow Sam" kids. I don't know if it is the same Alexandra, but it could be. Ice Princess was filmed in 2004, and she was born in 1993. That would make her about 11 at the time of filming. The movie was also recorded in the Toronto area. Also in the movie were Juliana Cannarozzo and Kirsten Olsen. I assume we are not counting the doubles such as Jennifer Robinson etc.

Oksana Baiul appeared as a commentator on "The Cutting Edge (2): Going for the Gold".

Sasha Cohen had one acting role as a mean girl in a movie called "Moondance Alexander". The movie was related to Equestrian Horseback Jumping, not Figure Skating.

Kristi Yamaguchi appeared as herself in a movie called "Go Figure".

The movie Moondance Alexander (with Sasha Cohen in it) is currently available on Starz On Demand. At least through Comcast right now. It's available until 5/31

Wasn't the best acting performance by her, but die-hard fans enjoyed it.
Not only that but she was a lesbian whose partner supported her decision to put her health in danger because she was having an affair with Oksana's rival and they plotted to make sure Oksana would be out of the Olympics.

I only recall one of Michelle's cameos on the Simpsons, but it was priceless! Her best line is when she's shown on the lower deck of a boat and asked by a basketball player (also doing a cameo...I can't remember who) if she has a boyfriend...to which she responds "Not in here, I don't."

She says it so dryly and confidently, it cracks me up every time!

^ The episode is from season 16 when Homer opens a Showboating Academy and teaches Michelle a victory dance.

I just rewatched...I should add that in the episode Homer was doing a biblical Super Bowl half-time show and Michelle was on the field inside Noah's Ark.

My secret wish is for Averbukh and Zhulin to make a feature length film with their current troupe of Ice Age skaters.

In the meantime, I have been locating (and processing) voidy footage from a few European films featuring Euros/Worlds skaters from the 1950s-1960s. (In a few days I'll post those in the Show Skating thread, as there will be links to the visuals.)
