He's adorable! I look forward to seeing many, many pictures of him as he grows up.

Can't get the first steps, but that star, those legs, everything's precious.
Awwww!
Just born and already walking? Such a fast learner!![]()
"Marge, if you're going to get mad at me every time I do something stupid, then I guess I'm just going to have to stop doing stupid things!" - Homer Simpson in the Mr. Plow episode
His hindquarters are freaking huge! He's so cute.
That first picture w/his front legs splayed out and him looking around...*wibbles*...
Wat a wittle precious baby boy!!!
Seriously now, he's gorgeous!! What a lovely little colt he is indeed.
So happy to hear all went well and there's happy and healthy new little guy in the Horse World.![]()
His name should be Star Bright, look at that blaze on his forehead.
Transported to Rood and Riddle for "pain management related to birth".
I don't know a thing about the care and feeding of horses, but I hope this is not a big deal. The other boards I'm on for thoroughbred racing are alite with this story. Hope she feels better soon.

Stonestreet stable says Rachel's doing well.
Baby
Hey, look how fast I can go when I get all four legs moving together!![]()
They look good. Now I hope all runs smoothly from now on.

Rachel and her Foal are Home!
Now the big countdown...Queen Z's been moved to the foaling barn!
(Right now, btw, Vegas is saying something like 50-1 the Curlin-Rachael Alexandra foal is in the Derby in three years, 100-1 on No. At the current odds I'd happily but $20 on no. I'll be impressed if he makes it out of Maiden Special Weights and fully expect him to be nothing of consequence. Great race mares rarely produce great runners--biggest disaster was Genuine Risk, with two foals that were worthless in flat racing and one slipped pregnancy, and of course that was the one by Secretariat.)
Z will get her own thread
As to your other point, there's about a 1:1235 chance of little Rachel/Curlin making the field. Live foal births estimates for 2012 by the Jockey Club are approx 24,700. I still wouldn't make a bet either.
Personally, I don't care if he races or not. Everything went well, there was a live birth and the little guy's doing well. That's all that's important to me.
Although, I do know there's a lot of money riding on this lil guy. I'm not that far into a fantasy world here. However, I do believe that anything after what I posted up there is just gravy now.

There's a name that colt contest on Stonestreet's web page for Rachel. Winner gets a meet and great with Rachel and the little one, and overnight stay in the guesthouse there.... Hmmm.... {puts thinking cap on}
