Wonderful ... and it will be more fun if Evan comes back also. They can hog the media attention, while Jeremy, Richard, Adam et. al. all train in peace ...

Well, I hope it's seriously intended and he trains a Quad. That's the only way he'll be relevant

I'll believe it when I see it, same as with Evan. More power to both of them if they do it.
Q: Why can't I read the competition threads?
A: Competition forums on the board are available to those with a Season Pass or a premium membership How to View Kiss & Cry

The article says he could only get a grand prix assignment as a host pick, but wouldn't he eligible for two as a comeback skater?

Announced just in time so it can be talked about all during Nationals next week. Good work Johnny.

I love him, but I'll believe it when I see it.

It kinda doesnt seem like a great idea to announce it like this.
Its like he wants the publicity. ???
If hes serious about it, he should just start quietly training to get back in form and ready to go when he finally competes and surprise everyone.
I dunno. Just my impression and humble opinion.
And im not a total Johnny basher and actually like his skating, for the record.

Michael Weiss was married by the time he won 1999 US Nats, I believe.

Michael Weiss was married. Weir would be the first to be married to another man.

It would be nice to see, but I'll believe it when he's out on the ice.

What? You expect him to pass up a chance to get attention And I find the timing of this interesting. He can now spend next week commentating on IceNetwork by promoting his comeback.

I think you have to have an Olympic medal for the "comeback" pass to GP events.

Based on the wording in the 2011-12 GP announcement [2.1 (c)], a comeback skater can get 2 GP assignments as long as they have ever been top 6 at Worlds:
“Come-Back” Skaters/Couples: Skaters/Couples who were previously seeded (placed 1 to 6 at any previous ISU World Figure Skating Championships) and subsequently did not participate in one or more competitive seasons are allowed to re-enter the Grand Prix if they commit to participating in 2 Grand Prix events. A come-back under this clause is allowed only once for any skater.

    Johnny tweeted the following:
    I'm coming back to competition.

The bitch is back! So excited to do this, with you all on my side. I promise to try my best to make you proud!

Johnny is commentating on IceNetwork next week?

so... I assume he qualifies, but... he was 3rd at his last worlds, but then skated for two more seasons, he just didn't go to worlds.

I don't think so. Didn't Michael Weiss win U.S. Nationals at least once? He got married when he was very young, around 20 or so.
