He's my favorite, too. While Michael Bolton is far from my favorite singer, I find Heejun Han utterly charming.

For anyone interested, The Idol Pad (@idolspoilers) is spoiling the top 24 tonight after the show. MJ is apparently getting the list from them as well, and both have already spoiled 10 of the top 24.
Give me one more quiet night, before this loud morning gets it right, and does me in.

My favourite tonight (in spite of his bad edit) was Jayrah Gibson - Just Friends

Jason "Wolf" Hamlin - Midnight Special / Folson Prison Blues was also good (although the second song was much better than the first).
It's official. I am madly in love with Meryl Davis.

It shouldn't be. I only DVR this show so I can speed through in about 15 mins. Football ran late though, so no Idol for me and anyone else who records it. Meh.

According to the blogger on USA Today, it seems this show was buried after the playoffs on purpose. No talent to speak of, and many audio problems due to the normal noises on a carrier. I don't see any of the San Diego names on Rickey.org's spoiler list, so we didn't miss anyone important.

It's a major prize for any show that gets to air after the playoffs. Fox has used this spot to launch new series that they have a lot of faith in. Giving this spot to AI meant they wanted to lure in viewers they might not normally get and to keep the show in the #1 (and #2) spot. And what location (San Diego with the military aspect) would appeal to football fans more than any other?

As for talent, there were lots of great auditions last night. I only noted my two favourites, but I could have picked many others, including Jane Carrey - Something To Talk About
It's official. I am madly in love with Meryl Davis.

....... Fox will rerun the episode tomorrow night at 8 PM, pre-empting a Glee repeat.

I don't think Jim Carrey's daughter should have been given a golden ticket

^^ I was on the fence about her. She had a nice voice, but not strong enough. But I don't think she'll make the Hollywood cut so I didn't have a problem with it.

I thought that Jane Carrey had a pure, unaffected voice that made me think of the early 70's (Joni Mitchell, Carole King, etc.) Too many people auditioning have so many affections...the worst is when someone growls in the middle of a line of the song. So horrifically fake!

Are you implying Christina Aguilera is not a real singer??

Aguilera has an astonishing voice and is also someone whose performances are very affected rather than genuine (like Adele).

I loved the woman (on the repeat last night...first time I've watched this season) who sang I Will Always Love You....wow. She was phenomenal.

My favourite audition from last night was Bailey Brown. I would have added a youtube link, but there's nothing available at this time. (The song she did was Bon Jovi's "Bed of Roses".)

Michael Slezak is hosting "Idology" (formerly known as "Idoloonies")

Here's week 1 for those who haven't seen it. (Melinda Doolittle is on with him.)

I hope it's as good as Idolatry. One of my favorite episodes:

    Danny's Scream On

And if anyone can find the "unauthorized fan vid" of Kristen with Glasses praising Danny, it's hilarious.

Idology is just as good as Idolatry, IMO. Last year's version called Idoloonies was just as hilarious, and he had people volunteer to co-host via Skype - many of the fans proved to be pretty insightful and just as good as Michael. And I hope he has Melinda Doolittle on a lot - she's funny, insightful and absolutely a perfect co-host.

I love the slapping fight at the beginning of this video.
