    I looked up Minnie Ripperton on Google a couple years ago and saw that she was Maya Randolph's mother. That fact surprised me as well. She died very young from breast cancer. She was only 36 I think.

    My favorite Ripperton song is Inside My Love. I just love it!

    I had that on a 45. Lord, I'm old. I think "Back Down Memory Lane" is my favorite of hers.

    TVOne does bios on lots of African-American entertainers from back in the day. In 09 they did one on Minnie. The home movies of her with Maya and her son Marc were so touching - she loved, loved her children so much and was so affectionate with them. Her husband never remarried either - he still tears up when he talks about her.
