Not dark history at all, but apparently General Sherman is one of my ancestors on my mom's side.

On my dad's side--the inventor of the one-pound butter mold.

This thread made me want to look into a couple of my ancestors. Apparently a theory is Lady Elizabeth Vernon's (Married to the Earl of Southhampton?) 1st child could be the 'love child' of William Shakespeare and the 'Dark Lady' in some sonnets he composed. If this is correct, then her first born daughter later married Baron Spencer...an ancestor of Princess Diana...

I thought that was kind of neat...not to mention I have a common ancestor to a couple of rather hot Royal Princes.

Lady Elizabeth Vernon had her daughter just a couple weeks after getting married and the scandal locked her and Henry Wriothsley in Fleet prison from 1598 to 1603 because Queen Elizabeth was angry...

Well, Georgia would argue about the "not dark history" part...
