Yeah, that was a detailed and great review Bournekraatzfan. It's great to know he's skating well and appreciated by fans all over the world. His two programs were of contrast and great skating.

Wow, you've really got to love and appreciate how Japanese skating fans show so much enthusiasm, admiration, and respect towards skaters. No wonder so many skaters love appearing and performing there; they really know how to welcome these skaters and make them feel good! It's official! . . . Jeremy could not be more adorable, cute, and sweet; I just want to kiss and hug him and some other things that are best left unposted.

Jeremy blew my mind at the CSOI in Vancouver. His glide is spectacular and his ability to vary his speed to match the music. I was thrilled, and surprised, to see his SP in its entirety, including an amazing triple axel (in the corner near my seat no less). I hope to be able to see him live again in the future, because if there was any doubt what a special skater he is, there can be no denying it when you are in the stadium watching him fly.

General impressions from Vancouver, with the caveat that I don't know much of the music by name, and I need to make this quick: <snip>

Abbott was introduced as a "true artist", and he lived up to this. His slow sections were at figures speed, and he, too, emphasized balance. How he can accelerate so quickly to full, sweeping speed without any tells is amazing.

i hope it's ok for me to ask a question about jeremy's long program music. i figured this is where the people most knowledgeable about jeremy's skating would hang out...

i was very impressed with the music and choreography for jeremy's long program this season. but when i went searching for the music on the net, i found that the version on the net has lyrics--and the version jeremy uses doesn't. did jeremy have a band play a lyrics-free version of the piece especially for him, so that his long program music wouldn't violate the no-lyrics rule? or is there perhaps an official version of the piece that has no vocals? i would like to find the exact version jeremy used, so i can put it on my itune playlist.

I absolutely love Jeremy's FS program this year and can't wait to see how he evolve as an artistic skater next year hopefully with something even better and challenging!

Provided you get permission from the record label, they should allow you to remove lyrics from the soundtrack using software and edit them for skating music. Though I am not sure if the music editor could have just take out the part without lyrics and repeat some parts for the 4 mins program since the lyric parts is only 1min 30sec of the music especially several parts are easily repetitive.

I thought (and I could be "misremembering") , that a guitar solo/other music was recorded and put in place of the vocals.

This really could be an argument for vocal music in competition- I think the music is more powerful WITH the vocals than without.

I loved the program, but I hope he moves on to another this coming season. He never skated it clean internationally, perhaps it was too ambitious to do it while he was also trying to up the tech content.

Jeremy has his own personal edit, where he replaced the vocal with electric guitar. If you want that version, you'd probably have to contact Jeremy himself- you won't find it on itunes or anywhere else.

since jeremy's music is not publicly available, i'm loving this no commentary version

i would like to see jeremy skate to many different pieces of music, so if he chooses to move on to a different long program, i will be happy. if he chooses to keep this program because he feels it has still-unrealized potential, i would be happy with that as well.

Thanks for the link. ^^Haven't heard anything recently. Whether or not Jeremy keeps one of his programs from last season remains to be seen. Perhaps he has been listening to music and working on different ideas and hasn't yet settled on anything definitively. He's certainly been touring a lot as well, so I wonder if that means he will keep one of his programs and find the time to prepare something new for either a sp or fp before the summer ends. He has a wonderful new exhibition.

Yuka has done a wonderful job helping him to develop his show skating.
This is not a jump out of your seats and cheer wildly exhibition number. I do like it, because it is a totally "Jeremy" number.

I hope we get two new programs this season-though it would probably be smarter to keep one. Part of the fun with Jeremy is seeing what he comes up with every year.
