There is the English export Man About The House http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mroyWhvpL-8 reincarnated as "Three's Company" (I always prefered the English version), and the spin-off George And Mildred http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twMFWMb5N4A

Well I'll own up to a couple of shows that were "sinful" pleasures of mine.
Love watching a female kick butt

And her one true love who had his own show a few seasons later

Crazy about sports!
Another one of my favorites!
Theme from Route 66

I liked the theme song from the show "Providence". It was a cover of the Beatles "In My Life" by Chantal Kreviazuk.

...Don't know if this has been done, but let's give it a shot: Favorite TV themes that some might not be familiar with, from yesteryear. Two of my favorites from British TV are (and please give links), The Persuaders http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t99QQIXez4M
I loved John Barry's music; and the show.
Interesting fact: I remember Roger Moore saying that the pictures of "him" when younger, in the Intro montage, are actually of his son.
His former wife destroyed all early photos of Sir Roger.

Forgive the double post.
No discussion of great TV themes is complete without this:

http://youtu.be/nzycxJUjdWI It's pretty catchy, and I'm loving that she does the right loop in a spread eagle position

Whoever added Beauty and the Beast - I like that one too.
Here is my offering for the day -

One of my local stations is showing the original episodes with Michael Moriarty on Saturday evenings. I'm enjoying them.
I never even knew this series (The Persuaders) existed--wonderful theme.
There was a British series that ran on PBS that was several years old when I first saw it but I was hooked anyway. It was called "The Sandbaggers" about the good old bad old days during the Cold War. Here's the theme:

I'm really surprised nobody mentioned two of my all-time favorites
The Cheers song [Everybody knows your name]
and the theme from Moonlighting - probably one of the best TV themes ever - but then I love Al Jarreau.
Vainly hoping for Khokhlova/Volobuev
I cant believe that no one has mentioned this one:
"Hill Street Blues" - another by Mike Post, who wrote so many others already in this thread.
