FSWer you have also been an inspiration to some of us. I have just started attending a gym for the first time ever, and when I'm working out, I think of the progress you've made and try to improve my performance each time. So thanks for that!

Ok my Fellow Skaters!!!....Last one of the year!!!...Here it gos....
My Staff got me to the Rink a little after 11:00. After checking in at the Desk,I went to sit down for a bit, until a Hockey Game ended and the Zanboni came out. I then went into the Rink and put on my Skates. I started out for a bit as the only one on the Ice!! Be we soon filled up. We were sharing the Ice with some Ice-Dancers in training (I believe looking for Partners). I also once again had the privage of taking on 2 or 3 Skaters as a Partner!!! Except for falling a few times (while doing it with a kid)...I actually find myself a NATUAL at being able to skate holding someone with one hand and my arm out!!! BTW. does anybody know what the Levels are in the UK.? A mother at the Rink with a Skater today told me when I asked what Level the Daughter was said that she was a Freestyle-4. But wasn't sure what she'd be in the US. Though she believes Prelimanary (sorry if I spelled that wrong). Though,if I'm rigt,we have Freestyle 4 here too, right?
There are two level 4s in the UK. There is Skate UK, which runs from Level 1 to Level 10, and teaches basic skills. Then there are the standard tests, which also run from Level 1 to Level 10. Level 4 in the standard tests requires an Axel, so I am not sure where it would sit in the US test structure - Juvenile?
It sounds like they just start numbering over again when you get to a higher level, FSWer. We do that here in the United States, too. First we have the Basic levels 1 through 8, then we start numbering over again with the Free Skate levels 1 through 6 (which are more advanced than the Basic levels), then we start over again with the standard levels, except now we use words to name them instead of numbers. These are the Pre-Preliminary up to Senior levels that you've already heard about, which are our most advanced levels. So we have a Basic Level 4 and a Free Skate Level 4, but they're not the same thing. In our Basic 4, for instance, skaters are learning things like forward crossovers and forward outside three turns. In Free Skate 4 they're working on sit spins and loop jumps. Our 4th standard level is Juvenile, where skaters have to be able to do an axel to pass the test, but usually already have double jumps in their programs.

Say,can anybody give me some tips on how to do a continuing Glide? As far as getting your Skates to KEEP Gliding once you start, and only stop when YOU want to stop?
You can only go as far as the push takes you... I asked my daughter - part of her test was going halfway down the ice on one leg, and then the rest of the way on the other leg. She said you build up speed in the hook (a way of entering the glide). You need power.

As we were sharing the Rink with a Birthday Party.
